A bit unusual, as they don’t take reservations. This is both good and bad I guess, depending. It’s great for me as I hate making reservations months or even weeks in advance. We arrived at 3pm in October and got the last 3 way connection. There were Many two ways connections available. The spaces we saw were a tad tight but many with a tree canopy. The facilities are dated but clean. It’s very close to Bar Harbor and amazingly reasonable priced considering location.
The technique I’m told is to show up early and if there isn’t anything available wait. Checkout is noon so anything available

We had planned on staying two nights and stayed an extra one.
Beautiful park, well kept with clean with welll stocked rest rooms and showers. Showers take quarters, and 25 cents gets you give minutes which is plenty of time.
They have quiet hours which are strictly enforced and that's good.
Swimming pool which I'm told is heated.
This camp site is far superior to the Seawall Camp ground down the road, and is in a much better position.
No problem recommending it to anyone.
Thank you to all the staff here.

There's a camp site here for every taste. Open and sunny To woody. Owners are very friendly, it's very clean. No reservations, No credit Cards. It's a first come first serve campground. You stay as long as you wish. The views are amazing with lots of open spaces for everyone to enjoy them. The Island Trolley service stops here every 30 minutes and brings you to the visitor center where you hop on a bus to your desired destination.

This was my first experience at a campground where you can't reserve a site.
Navigating a diesel pusher while others zipped around in small vehicles proved challenging.
After a few unsuccessful attempts, the nice ladies had me park in the overflow lot and very shortly advised me of an open site.
During my week there I stopped in the office a couple of times to ask questions and they couldn't have been nicer!
The campground is super clean and reasonably priced (for the area)!
If I make it back to beautiful Bar Harbor, this is my first choice for a campground!

Beautiful tent sites! Tents sites were wooded and fairly well spaced for privacy. Top of the grounds has a lovely vista view. The bathhouses were decent, kept clean, and not too busy. Showers are paid at 25c for 5 minutes. Office sells wood and ice and has free wifi. Other campers kept to quiet hours and the campground overall was fairly quiet. A great find for the price.

Great rates and view! It is a little tricky getting a spot with no reservations and so many people set up there for extended periods but it seems like there’s usually tent sites and they allow you to put campers on many tent sites with no hookups. Enjoyed the pool, picking blueberries, and playground while we were there. Tried to do laundry and it was extremely busy so more machines or a second laundry facility at the entrance would be nice. Extremely impressed with clean, dry bathrooms/showers.

Another post said they couldn’t get through on the phone, but I did just fine getting through. They are definitely not short handed when we arrived in person- they just only have one phone line. The office was fully staffed all 4 times I went in there. It has two lines for registration. We arrived at 1 on checking in day on a Saturday and did just fine finding our own flat. private tent site surrounded by trees. We stayed at S12, and would highly recommend it. The showers were very clean and cost $0.25 for every 5 min of water. Showers have hot water. I never had to wait for a shower either.

This is the best campground I have ever been to. The gold standard. The bathrooms are clean with great water pressure and hot water. It sits up high and overlooks the water. There is a clean pool that overlooks this view. The staff are friendly and accommodating. It is close to Acadia National Park. Blueberries grow all over the campground and are picked freely by the bucket. We literally ate them until our bellies hurt. They have nice washers and dryers available, full hookup sites and the tent sites are fully wooded and secluded. I have been camping my entire life and this is the best campground
