Restore - (verb) Webster's dictionary defines the word restore as "To bring back or to put back into something's former or original state." Restore Counseling Nashville was created with the idea of returning people back to themselves, but with more insight, peace, and wholeness than from wherever they began.
David grew up in Nashville, attending college and graduating with a psychology major and biology minor from Lipscomb University. After graduation, he went on to work at Mental Health Cooperative and from there to Cumberland Heights. David's time at Cumberland Heights lasted eight years where he worked in various roles including individual and family counselor, case manager, business development and mobile assessment.
Restore therapists meet with couples, premarital couples, and families and will walk alongside you as we move towards deeper understanding and self-acceptance in the midst of healthier, happier relationships. We are committed to your human flourishing and living with purpose, hope, and connection with others and utilize couples therapy as means to greater health in your priority relationship.
Restore Counseling offers individual counseling for both men and women of varying ages. Sessions run for an hour and are centered around assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of the issues preventing clients from making the desired movement in their lives. We draw from multiple modalities for treatment, as we believe there is not one method that works for everyone.
Motivational interviewing (MI) alludes to a counseling approach in part developed by Professor William R Miller, Ph. D. and Professor Stephen Rollnick, Ph. D in the 1990s. The concept of motivational interviewing evolved from their experiences working with individuals who struggled with alcohol use disorder.
