Many of these schools have large classes where the the instructor/student ratio is ten to one, twenty to one or even more. AND Most group instruction is geared to the middle or average level, thus slowing optimum progress of those above and below the middle.

You receive private instruction, which enables you to progress at your pace, focusing on your own unique individual traits so that you learn at a pace that's right for you. Hi, my name is Doug Tate and I am the owner of Boca Raton Karate & Kickboxing Academy. When I was 8 years old I started my martial arts journey and the positive impact it had on my life was remarkable.
It was always my dream to some day own my own school, and when I opened Boca Raton Karate & Kickboxing Academy in 2009, I made a commitment to our community in Boca Raton to create an enjoyable environment for students to improve their fitness while building confidence they can carry into their everyday lives.Our kids martial arts program builds strong leaders.

Dragonflies is a class for ages 4 to 6. At this age, kids are just learning how to take instruction, follow rules and be aware of their surroundings. We offer four, 30-minute classes each week that focus on martial arts basics, balance and flexibility, exercise and include fun games and drills to help with respect, focus and listening skills.
Youth Kenpo Karate is for kids 7 and up. We offer five, 45-min classes a week that are based on self-defense practice, exercise, strength building, flexibility and life skills such as goal setting, respect and team work. Our Youth class has an atmosphere of mutual respect, tolerance for all students and fun.
Want to learn kickboxing? Have fun, get in great shape. Learn real kickboxing drills, combo from experienced martial arts instructors, learn to protect your self, get workout and nutrition tips. Kickboxing is a great way to get in shape, increase flexibility, reduce stress and learn to defend yourself, all while having a great time in a supportive team environment.

Our son started with Patty six years ago at the YMCA and then moved to the dojo with Sensei Doug.
Even with the effects of COVID, the team at BRKKA keep up with classes, found new ways to keep everyone involved and most importantly, kept the fun going.
Ethan just gained his first Black Belt and is proud of his place on Sensei’s lineage tree and is continuing his karate journey.

I have been going to Boca Raton Karate & Kickboxing Academy for little over a year now, and I’ve been able to learn and improve on so much. Sensei Doug is very encouraging and makes the lessons fun. The private lessons are also very effective, along with the high intensity group lessons. I always look forward to my training here!

My son loves it!!! Need I say more? Although I understand, it's a business, but this one is most certainly looking NOT into your wallet or get you into enormous down payments or unreasonable contracts. Instead they REALLY FOCUS ON YOUR CHILD! I'm very happy with son's progress. Checking my schedule to see if I can bring my son more often here. Way to go BRKKA!!!

Sensei Doug and Patty are the best. Best in Boca and surrounding areas. They really care and have just the right balance between pushing you and encouraging you. Our family has taken classes seaparetly on occasion and our son is working on his advanced belts - we've never had to beg him to go, he's always excited. We've done group and private classes, worth the investment. . We tested places all over the area and found a home here. Try it out. Highly recommend them.

My son took classes here for only a few months but I have to say it was a great experience. I was so sad that they moved out towards East Boca. We definitely would have stayed there had they not moved. If you live in East Boca, I highly recommend them. Sensei Doug and Miss Patty are great people and excellent teachers.

Sensai Doug and Ms Patti are AWESOME! We are happy with our choice of dojos for our 4 year old , every day! They are constantly keeping the dragonflies focused (as best they can) and best of all learning new things! Moving on to the next belt level is always a priority and the training / classes are geared toward that. Adding different movements to the kids knowledge as well as what / why they do the movements are a constant in this dojo. We have been with them for several months plus the last few months via zoom in COVID quarantine. We appreciate you guys!!
