Rita Selles is an experienced and trained baker. From her mother's kitchen in Ontario to her years spent in France to her home in Grand Rapids, Michigan today, Rita has always loved discovering new recipes and developing old classics. In 2017, Rita graduated from the Secchia Institute of Culinary Education where she was the Baking and Pastry Arts Valedictorian and the recipient of the Faculty Award.

Rita was such a joy to work with!! Not only was she extremely accommodating to my requests, but she was responsive to all phone calls and emails while I planned my wedding in around 3 months! Her cookies were absolutely divine, we got compliments all night! The most beautiful and delicious treats for my wedding :)

These cupcakes were AMAZING! They were extremely moist and delicate. The frosting was perfectly sweet and not overpowering. It was a delicious treat. My grandson, his siblings and parents ate them all! LOL! The owner even included instructions on what room temperature to preserve the freshness of cupcakes. We are thoroughly impressed and will order from her again. Thank you Miss Rita :)

Edgewood Bakery is probably the best home-based bakery in Grand Rapids. Rita (the owner and baker) was attentive and willing to accomodate our cake requests. The cake I purchased was incredible, and a huge hit among my family and the birthday girl. The cream cheese frosting is homemade and it was fantastic. Get your cake from Edgewood!

By far the best cake I have ever tried in my life! Rita is very professional and offers excellent guidance when deciding on cake flavors. I ended up ordering a six inch layered almond vanilla cake with strawberry buttercream layers and vanilla buttercream frosting on the outside. The cake far exceeded our expectations. We will be certainly be going back for other occasions! If you haven’t tried Edgewood Bakery’s baked goods yet, you’re missing out on an amazing experience!
