Type 2 diabetes is a disease that develops when the body's tissues cannot use insulin properly. Insulin is a hormone that helps the body's cells use sugar (glucose) for energy. It also helps the body store extra sugar in muscle, fat, and liver cells. Over time, the pancreas cannot make enough insulin, and without it, sugar cannot get into the cells to do its work, causing high blood sugar levels.

Cano does a lot of marketing and my mother, an insulin dependent diabetic, started going to Cano this year thinking it was a better clinic but turned out it's not. She does not see well and can't drive. We are so disappointed with the lack of attention and sense of urgency related to processing referrals for specialist doctor visits, transportation and prescription refills. My mom has gone to specialist appointments only to wait and wait hours and not be seen by the specialist because Cano didn't provide them with the Referral. I complained to Cano and never got a response to my complaint or concerns

Approximately 2 weeks ago, 07/07/2021, I had an appointment at Cano Healthcare, at the Taft Street clinic where blood samples were drawn and apparently sent to Quest Diagnostics for specific tests. An appointment was set for today, 07/26/2021, to review the results at the Taft clinic, but days prior to the appointment I called to inquire various days and different times to ask if the blood results were ready and was told they were not available yet and I was told someone would be calling me about the blood results and various times I was advised someone would return my call with additional information

A nightmare! They want you to leave Medicare and take their medical health care plan. They cannot tell you what the costs are, and if they send you to a lab, they don't do what a personal physicians office would, such as check insurance pay, etc. I asked how much my visit would be and they said they could not tell me because it goes to billing. And these people want you to leave Medicare?! No privacy, Dr. in a hurry, 1 doctor for a full clinic. Awful place!

When they were primary care physicians they were great but now I keep getting the run around for my referrals taking several weeks and multiple calls, keep getting different answers but they all end with were going to expedite it for you but when I called back no record of the referrals. When you call you have to stay on hold sometimes and hour. Switching my pcp

*DO NOT GO TO ANY CANO HEALTH OFFICES*. It’s evident that these places don’t care about their patients. I’ve had nothing but bad experience with their staff. Horrible, horrible, horrible. I have no idea how they can be in business. Their staff has put my health in jeopardy multiple times. Never again!!

This by far has been the worst Dr’s “Corporation” I have dealt with. For a simple referral I have made many phone calls, first time was 4 calls. So far the last referral 2 1/2 months and counting. When I complained to my Insurance provider their rebuttal was vague and they insisted they provided services in a reasonable time frame. Lies!!! That manager and entire referral department needs to fired. This will be my 6th phone call so far. The staff is aware of how horrid their services are and detached when they receive complaints it’s like water rolling off a ducks back. All of the positive

Don't ever place ur parents there. It's just a money making machine. They are like a pulp absorbing little clinics. You have to wait forever for a referral to see an specialist. Transportation fails. Rude front desk staff. Never place medicines on time. It's a constant battle for everything to get service. It's nothing what they announce on TV.
