Takako moved from Okinawa, Japan to Los Angeles when she was a child and started working with flowers as a teenager at her brother's renowned flower shop, Paul's Unique Creations. With decades of experience as a floral designer, she has decorated countless Hollywood events including the Golden Globes and Emmys, as well as celebrity homes in Los Angeles.
Here in Honolulu, she was engaged as manager/design director at a wedding company and produced many floral creations for clients. Full of experience and passion for beauty and flowers, she launched her dream design company, HALU LLC in 2018 to share her love of floral design with others. Takako did an amazing job with our florals. We asked for a tropical look and boy did she DELIVER!!! [Insert hand clapping emoji] It was a destination wedding and she did a video chat with me and I gave her all my favorite flowers and sent her inspiration pictures and she brought my dreams to reality. I think the pictures speak for themselves on how beautiful everything turned out!!!

I contacted HALU Hawaii five months before my wedding and since Hawaii was still in Tier 2, it was hard to plan what could be for my wedding day. However, Takako was very professional and was open and responsive to any kind of changes that I requested.
I knew I wanted anemones for my bouquet and when I saw a centerpiece that HALU Hawaii reposted on her Instagram, I fell in love. I requested to have the same centerpiece but with some differences in flowers and Takako delivered. All of the flowers were beautiful and I couldn't have been happier.
Since Hawaii weddings were opening up again

I'm very glad to have HALU Flowers Hawaii to be our florist/stylist of our destination wedding at Ko'olau Ballroms Outdoor Garden in Oahu. I planned my O'ahu wedding from the mainland (Maryland). Takako (from HALU Flowers Hawaii) has been incredibly wonderful, very responsive and organized. She is also very nice compared to the other florists I've spoken to in other companies. I had Pinterest floral inspos online for my tropical romance themed wedding and Takako also made some great suggestions and really brought my exact vision to life! I was concerned about finding someone to make my wedding bouquet because most have a minimum order for weddings, but Takako didn't. I wanted a very elegant look and she nailed it. It matched my gown from Barcelona perfectly. She even delivered it to my site, and was humbly grateful for my business when it was such a small order. She is absolutely fabulous to work with and an amazing floral artist. I would recommend her a million times over.

I feel so lucky that I stumbled upon HALU flowers while researching wedding flowers, because Takako is truly talented! Takako provided flowers for our wedding arch, bridal and bridesmaid bouquets, and boutonnieres. All of the flowers turned out beautifully, even more so than the Pinterest inspo pictures I've provided her with. She also incorporated lovely smelling flowers like pikake into the bouquets, which was a very thoughtful touch! Of all the people that I worked with for my wedding, I am most excited to write one of Takako and her team. From the start, she provided me with a very detailed inventory list often providing different options for flowers and foliage with different price points (for my bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, the arch). HALU did a fantastic job at creating a beautiful arrangement that I wanted to send to my boyfriend's family as a thank you for their hospitality during our visit. I reached out to HALU via email with pictures of what I wanted the arrangement to look like and Takako immediately responded with a quote and details on which flowers would be in season. She sent me photos of the final product and I was so happy with how it came out! If I lived in the area, HALU would without a doubt be my go-to florist.

Takako did all my bouquets, centerpieces, column deco, cake, and hair deco. She has such a great personality and is good at communicating with me (very important for a stressed bride). Takako and Mika did my bridal bouquet, MOH & bridesmaids bouquets (11 bouquets altogether!), groom & groomsmen boutonnières (11 altogether as well), and a head table arrangement for the reception. This was my first visit to Hawaii (from NY) to visit family and I wanted to send an arrangement as my thank you. After several failed attempts with 1800 flowers, I decided enough was enough and that I'd take it upon myself to find a competent florist.
