I just had to write a review because this place was just great. The food and seasoning and freshness was perfect. The service and people were fast and so courteous. The combination plater was absolutely amazing and the Arabic coffee was herbal, strong, and very good. The falafels were perfect with not being dry, good outer crunch and seasoning being spot on.
I do wish the lay out for seating was a bit different but everything was so clean and pleasant that I honestly can't complain.
I will definitely become a regular here.

Very good take on Middle Eastern cuisine.
While the falafel is oddly shaped, the taste was delightful.
Kefta Kabob was particularly tasty and well seasoned.
Overall, a good find in downtown Oak Park.
A little peeved that they felt a need to charge extra for a tiny portion of tahini, but not a big deal.

Masks required indoors . Able to remove while dining in . Walk up to counter to order . And if eating in ,they will serve it to table . Appetizers , salads, sandwiches , entrees. Soda in cans or dispenser machine . Dining in and 2 separate areas . The beef shish kabob very good , beef marinated tasty. Portions not very big though . Entree comes with rice and grilled veggies , pita bread with hummus ... or no rice and extra veggies for extra fee . Veggie pita sandwich available with Jerusalem salad had too much hummus and tzaziki sauce. Chicken shawarma served with rice pilaf , and grilled veggies

The food was really great and the portions were generous, but there is a deeper reason I will be coming back whenever possible, and that is this establishment's culture of supporting women. Let me explain.
When I stopped in on a Friday to grab some lunch, I noticed 2 small children and a baby in the back corner. It became clear their mom, who was the cashier & foodrunner, must have had her sitter cancel that day, and was forced to take her children to work with her. Not every place would have allowed that, but the kids were ensconced with snacks and a tablet, there for the long haul of her shift
