Dr. Rachel Harris Monteiro is the founder of River Oaks Dental and is a general dentist, providing comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages in her hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Monteiro graduated from The Bolles School, and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of North Florida.
She then attended dental school at the University of Louisville, where she graduated with honors. As someone who has always hated the dentist, I can whole heartedly say this was the best experience I’ve ever had in my life, I mean I’m writing this review right after leaving my appointment that oughta tell you something. The ladies at River Oak Dental are the sweetest people and made me feel so comfortable. This was probably the first time I went to the dentist and didn’t feel like I was just being shamed or reprimanded, I could be honest and know that they would hear me and adopt my treatment plan to fit my current lifestyle. I had my first office visit with Dr. Monteiro today and was so happy! She was super nice and calming and the office was very nice. I am one who has anxiety going to a dentist and had a bad experience at the last place I went so this was a welcome change! I felt very comfortable and welcome…not looking forward to all the work I have to have done but I’m confident the staff will make it as comfortable as possible!

Beautiful office, very nice staff & I left there feeling very confident about my overall dental work that I need done based on her findings and suggested treatment plan. Had a wonderful experience! Called with questions and pricing and got a direct accurate answer. Went in for a broken filling that ended up needing extracting. Office was neat/clean. Assistant Angie was very nice and helpful! The doctor helped a lot and knew/thoroughly explained and took care of me with no pain at all.

The office is beautiful and clean. The staff is kind and very responsive. Dr Rachel is extremely knowledgeable,kind, compassionate , and always available for emergencies. It’s always difficult to change care but Dr Rachel made my fears go away immediately. I would highly recommend her practice to all.
