Very nice place with an amazing staff that i can tell truly cares and has great relational personalities. You can experience wonderful live hibachi from an entertaining chef or order your meal restaurant style or have a seat at the bar, either way, the food and drink will be great. (Kid friendly all around as well). The food for us was great and we ordered a pretty good variety. Their drink menu was great and their staff was able to make things not listed. Ordered chicken fried rice, apparently they take it to the literal meaning, I got chicken, I got rice. I’m hungry so I ate it, I get down to the last couple bites and as I’m chewing, what do I find to my surprise other than the fact that the chicken taste old and recooked but a chicken bone I almost broke my tooth as I had no idea it was there until I started chewing, the fact that I had a bone in my mouth almost made me sick. Great food and staff. The hibachi chef is everything they say. His personality is awesome and the waitress was attentive. The best ginger sauce I've ever had. My boyfriend doesn't even like ginger and he took some to go. Reasonably priced, big portions, and open til 1 am. We all even got a free shot for my birthday which was so delicious and smooth. I will be back next year!

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! Decided to stop! Great and quick service !!! If you want a good well prices relaxing dinner come here. I started with the kamikazi roll! Very delicious and fresh! I have eaten sushi all over the US and this rivals some of the fancy sushi places in New York. If you're looking for sushi come here verse soho when visiting the grand strand! We also had chicken hibachi which was very generous portions and amazing miso soup. Will defiantly come back on my next trip to Myrtle maybe even this week!

Good food and decent service. Went with a family and everything came out quickly and as ordered. Would recommend for family groups. Only issue is the very small parking lot in the front. That said, there are lots for businesses on either side that you could use.

Hello, so this place eh. Not too great. Walked in the place was dirty food on the ground and the waitress told us she'd clean it up and never did. The table was messy and they never cleaned it. They have cleaning supplies and other stuff right next to the hibachi table. I thought the gyoza was an 8/10. I ordered steak hibachi and the chef who did our hibachi was very welcoming and very kind he deserves a raise. But when it came down to the hibachi the steak was very chewy and just wasn't very good. My girlfriend was with me too and didn't like her food either. Overall not too great

Awful. Service was terrible, food was not very good. Orders came out one at a time. I was finished by the time my child's meal came to the table. We waited another 40 minutes just to get our check. Our plan was to go to Miyabi but they had an hour wait. We saw a coupon for Sugami and called and they had no wait. The coupon and no wait should have been our clue not to go here.

We were visiting for the long weekend. You really need a reservation to go to most spots but we had just arrived in town and weren't able to make one. We searched for sushi spots and this showed up and we weren't disappointed.
We were seated immediately. We ordered our sushi and it came out 15 minutes later. We had an assortment of rolls. They have a front and back menu full to pick from so you will have your choice for sure.
The service was good. The food came at fast and delicious. We would absolutely return.

Janice was a very kind and professional waitress. Her favorite roll is the Buddha and now it's mine too 💗 All of the food was great 👍 Best and freshest gyoza I've had in quite sometime...cooked perfectly!

I'm so glad my family and I found this jewel of a restaurant. We were waiting forever for a table at Yamato only to give up after an 1hr and a half. After a short search we found Sugami. The food here was amazing. The portions were huge. The staff was very accommodating. They were able to get us a table with short notice. The chef was entertaining and super friendly. We will definitely be back on our next visit.

Not efficient at all. We had an 8:45pm reservation for 3 people including one in a wheelchair. Found out that the only wheelchair parking spot is partially being used by staff picnic table. The only wheelchair accessible entrance is through the back door less than 6 inches from chairs at a hibachi grill. An entire family had to move in order for our wheelchair to enter the restaurant. The hibachi table wasn't cleaned or ready, so they made us move all the way to another section of the restaurant away from the hibachi table we were going to be seated. Having a reservation made no difference. This

We were looking for a family friendly sushi and hibachi experience for lunch while on vacation.
This was a very clean and quiet location with lovely decor and environment.
Tons of options for sushi rolls and especially lunch box options too.
Food was perfect!
Our server was exceptionally kind, responsive and interacted with us all.

Ordered delivery. I got hibachi steak and scallops with miso soup. And I ordered the caterpillar roll. The only good thing was the caterpillar roll- although for $13, it was so small
The scallops were gritty. The steak was just ok.
The rice was disgusting. Their white sauce was disgusting. I have never had a white sauce taste that way. And the miso soup- also disgusting.
What a waste of $40.

This was unlike any hibachi I've had and not in a good way. I was craving fried rice, so that's all I got (THE most basic thing) and it wasn't good. I also asked for the ginger dressing for salads and got something white and tangy and what I believe was hot yum yum sauce. I know it was just rice but it dulls my confidence in other dishes if you mess up fried rice. Gave them 2 stars, one for how nice the lady was, but purely based on food it was a 1.

Our 10th anniversary brought us to Myrtle Beach to celebrate, and this was the place we chose at random for our first night's dinner. We cruised down the strip and past all the buffets and pancake houses waiting for something to jump out at us. I wanted sushi and thought the sign and building looked sincere. Upon entering, we were warmly welcomed and asked if we wanted to have hibachi or regular seating. We wanted sushi seating, and our hostess/waitress smiled and gestured toward the main seating area, where we selected our table.

She gave us menus, sushi forms, and drink menus and asked

This place never fails! I've slowly started to become a regular because they know how to roll a roll! Sushi is always 10/10 as well as the food. I'm always greeted with a friendly greeting and smile, bathroom might be a bit DIY, but the atmosphere and food make up for it. My favorite about this place though is the playlists, always on point!

Food is great and service is wonderful! We were greeted with a smile by the hostess, server and cook. We visit every time we're in town! The portions are large and it tastes wonderful!! The only reason I bumped down to a 4-star is the restrooms - for as nice as the restaurant is, the bathrooms are gross (avoid them if you can).

Excellent food! Even better service! Definitely a hidden gem, as it has an average of 3 stars, which I'm not sure why!?! I got hibachi and sushi and they both were of excellent portions and quality and equal flavor! We will definitely be back!

I've not eaten here. My review is based on false advertisement. My husband & I are staying at a hotel about 20 minutes from this restaurant. We've been Ubering everywhere, however decided to get some exercise in and walk here to eat dinner. It's advertised online as being open 7 days a week, 12:00pm-1:00am & upon arrival their sign outside also stated that, however they were not open at 5:00pm when we arrived!

We were originally heading somewhere else, but that place was so busy that were just walked over to Sugami for dinner. They weren't too busy, but we still had to wait. While waiting, we noticed that the place was very clean.

Once we were seated, things went quickly and smoothly.

The miso was delicious. It was savory and contained plenty of tofu and scallions.

The salad was good, but included too much of the white and dark parts of the lettuce. There were, however, plenty of carrots and cabbage. The ginger dressing was creamier than most, but a little less gingery. Nonetheless, very delicious

Service was annoying. Servers were overbearing when I was looking away from them or talking to people, but when I would make eye contact with them and try to signal them other, they would ignore me. The place wasnt crowded, either.
Ginger salad was below average.
I ordered the tiger roll. I enjoyed it a lot.
Tried my moms hibachi. It was alright. A lot of rice on the dish, but 10 shrimp came with it plus some vegetables.
