Eggspectation
The idea sprung to life in Montreal in 1993. We started out with just a few key thoughts and a passion for innovation and memorable experiences. From the first, we wanted to take our favorite mealtime ingredients and creatively expand their culinary taste delights across not just breakfast and brunch but also to lunch and dinner-set in a welcoming and energetic bar and cafe ambiance.

This new level of innovation has led us to today's satisfying and diverse eggspectation menu ranging from freshly prepared artisanal brioche French toast, thin French crepes, Belgian waffles, fluffy buttermilk pancakes, pastas, burgers, seafood, steak and-of course-eggs benedict! Those Montreal beginnings have grown to fit today's fresh, clean, and very tasty modern American cuisine.

A generous 3/5. Food was mediocre, staff was nice. I would recommend you go if you have no real expectation and you want a quick fix.

Cold breakfast, come on that's the one thing that shouldn't happen at a breakfast spot...Basic flavour, this is why Allô Mon Coco is a better option on the same street.

Exceeded my eggspectations. Seriously. Took my parents here who were visiting and we all loved what we ordered. Lovely waitress too.

Horrible to say the least very dirty and unsanitary, dirty silverware, burned pancakes, hard French toast, and a nice black hair from the chef in our eggs.
I never do but we had to complain and they didn’t do anything about it.
Service and place deserves 0

Food was dry and expansive for what you get. Service is long and I am not very impressed with this restaurant who charge at least 2-3$ per plate for something worst than a restaurant like Allo mon Coco.
Do not recommand. 15$ for a very ordinary waffles like you see in the picture.

I went to this place because I am from Montreal and spent quite some time in the one near my university. Some may say I had high eggspectations (no pun intended). i ordered this dish, "Yolk around the clock", because this was my fave. I was quite disappointed with the meal, the melted cheese tasted like "plastic". The next thing was the fruit was on top of the potatoes as you can see and the fruit was juicy... so half my potatoes tasted like melon. Not impressed at all. The service was ok... although I felt that the table of guys next to me got way more service than me. I had

Visited from Toronto and this place was close to our hotel.

Pricing: overpriced for eggs Benedict's - had better before

Food: I had the crab cake eggs Benedict and it was bland, the crab cake was very soft and wished it was more crispier. It was soggy.

Wait: we waited around 45 mins around noon, very tight and not many seats to sit down and wait

I wouldn't come back here due to the wait and pricing for the eggs.

This place was a very well rounded breakfast spot. I almost didn't come because the reviews were below a 4.0. I don't really know how.
The place has good food, good service, a big menu, and good atmosphere.
I would definitely recommend eating here.

It seems like they went through growing pains going by the bad reviews. I was there a couple of weeks ago and I had the same experience here as other eggspectation locations.

This location in particular is very bright with high ceilings, it's also very spacious and I don't see it filling up even on weekends.

Everything that we have tried on the menu has so far been pretty good. I am a fan of their savoury crepes and their eggs bendicts. Pancakes are pretty good as well and come with real maple syrup.

It's unfortunate that their menu can't be check online because they have

I thoroughly enjoyed my brunch here. At first I was hesitant to go after looking at the reviews on here, but it was in a convenient location so we went anyways and I'm glad we did. I got the "California dreaming" eggs dish (poached eggs with smoked salmon, spinach, asparagus and potatoes and toast) and it was really good. The eggs were poached nicely and had that perfect run to them. Smoked salmon was also good (I feel like the quality of smoked salmon varies a lot in restaurants but this one was fab). Service was good, I wouldn't say it was super fast but it was a reasonable

A rather unremarkable and thin eggs Benedict with a stale fruit salad and decent coffee will run you $28 after tax and tip. Very overpriced for what it is, did not meet my eggspectations.

Judging by the reviews I hadn't expected much, but was pleasantly surprised. The space itself is nice and bright, and the decor creates a nice modern feel. It doesn't have quite the character of the original Montreal location, but is definitely a step above your typical greasy spoon diner. I had the Montreal Benny, which was on the good side of decent, though I felt all the prices here were about $1-$2 more than they should a been. It won't be at the top of my brunch list for the area, but I'll be back at some point. It definitely deserves more than its current (as of early

This is the first time I went to this establishment, but I was very disappointed. I ordered a vegetable omelette. The waitress brought me a mushroom and cheddar omelette. I pointed out that this was not what I asked for and she explained that she punched in the right order and it was the kitchen's fault. By the time my friend finished her lunch, I received my omelette. It was flat and tasteless, and the potatoes were cold. Nobody followed up to see if everything was ok, so I paid the bill and tipped well anyway. When we were leaving, the hostess at the door asked if everything was ok. I explained

Disappointed in the food. My husband ordered a mushroom and cheese omelet. Flat like a pancake, a few potatoes and no toast. When asked it came barely toasted wrapped in a napkin with a pile of packaged toppings. So unappetizing. My order of poached eggs in avocado halves looked terrible. The key is that nothing looked good, I couldn't taste the egg as the tomato sauce was thick and overwhelming. This cost is $48.00. A simple breakfast place will be our next breakfast out. Even McDs is better.

All style no substance. Bright and clean space but food is sub par. My toast arrived having never seen a toaster, just bread. Beans were served room temperature and had to request coffee twice, arrived in the middle of the meal. Lots of better options near by.

Came here with a couple of buddies from work. The food is ok, nothing to brag about. The service was quite disappointing, it took longer for the bills to come to the table than the food. When our bills came there was a mistake, they charged us $1.75 for an egg on our burgers when the menu clearly stated that the egg is free. After mentioning it to the waitress she went to take the charge off of the bill, but it took forever for this adjustment to be made. Do yourself a favour and go down the street to Sunset Grill.

The struggle is real.

I have to say I had higher expectations of Eggspectations.

The food was okay. The service was pretty brutal. They don't have their liquor license yet so I wasn't able to placate myself with alcohol. Which would have most likely improved this review. Even as we were leaving you could hear servers apologizing for the late food, and by this time the place was mostly empty. I would say that even basic food requests were not understood. The food quality I would say was a 5/10. The omelettes were a mess. The Yonge and bloor has some pretty competitive brunch spots. So

Well, I must say that the growing pains of the first few weeks seem to be getting better.

Went for lunch (2 of us) - got the Steak & Eggs (uneggspected) and I got the Montreal Panini. The food was good, well prepared - the fries are quite tasty -

The service was good, and we were seated, served, paid and out in 28 minutes.

I will be trying it again

We three tried this newly opened restaurant for lunch, and the experience was a total disappointment. We were served food separately, and the gap was more than 10 mins. The last person got a free fries on the side, the other 2 of us had to watch the last person finishing the lunch. I ordered a rad burger with green salad and fries, the burger was absolutely tasteless, the supermarket bought green salad was not fresh at all, it's like in the fridge for a week. The fries looked like McDonald's, but tasted less. My friend ordered a medium rare steak and got a well done one, butter on the

We went here a Monday, as it goes for the service there’s definitely place for improvement. The waitress wasn’t really available.
Hard to find parking around.
Good options for Vegans or Vegetarians 🌱
Winter time, the place is well heated 👍
The best Eggspectation is definitely located in the Rockland mall.

Travelled to Montreal for the first time, was looking for a wonderful place to eat brunch and this place suited my needs! The waiters and waitresses are so friendly and take customer satisfaction to the next level. A definite must-go, servings are more than generous and the atmosphere is great.

This is one of the most generous brunch / breakfast restaurants you can possibly go to. The portions are enormous. But – the pancakes are slushy, kind of done hastily... Eggs are well done, sausages too, bacon as well. But it's all too greasy. It's a shame you don't get a generous amount of maple syrup to go with it all, and pay for the extra you ask for, especially that this isn't a cheap place. Coffee's good. Recommended.
