Pennsylvania native David Tucci grew up in an Italian family where he acquired a taste for East Coast Italian subs and Philly cheesesteaks. After moving to Austin in 1982 to get his business degree from the University of Texas, he took a job at a local sub shop where he worked his way up. In 2008, David went out on his own and founded Tucci's Southside Subs, opening two locations.
Wanting to bring quality East Coast subs to Austin, he chose Boar's Head brand meats and cheeses and custom-made East Coast hoagie rolls from the New World Bakery. Located at the intersection of IH-35 and William Cannon in the Century South Shopping Center facing Academy Sports and Outdoors. Located at the Y in Oak Hill in the Oak Hill Plaza Shopping Center next to Wells Fargo Bank.

Grabbed a spicy Italian sub with my honey! A neighbor of ours just dined here and was raving about it, Jan lived in the northeast for years and was definitely craving a solid italian sub.
The menu is adequate and self explanatory. (Detailed description)
We decided to split a whole sub and that was huge, lol I was surprised at the amount of meat but Jan says that's the secret to a delicious sub.
I didn't think the spicy was "spicy" but more of a mild.
Ask for extra peppers if you're into heat.
I did like the "tucci's way" of condiments. Very pickley

Love this place and have been many times. This time I had the Cuban which is only available from May to September. It was really good and highly recommend it.
My wife had the gramma Max's hot ham & Swiss which comes on a kaiser roll. I had a small bite and it was quite good.
I've had many other sandwiches and try to stop by this place whenever I'm by 71 and 290.

I kinda wish I'd never tried this place... it's so delicious, it makes the other sandwich shops disappointing. We say, "I wish there was a Tucci's here," when we are traveling.
The classicItalian deli meat subs are great. My wife like their tuna subs -- and they are loaded. The staff want to make sandwiches the way that you want them made. I've patronized Tucci's for years and the guys behind the counter have always been great.
Top-quality ingredients and proud employees equal a great meal.

My husband and I ate here for lunch one weekday.
Kudos: They offer curbside pick up. I love not leaving my car.
We both got Philly Cheesesteaks. My husband's with jalapeños. mine without.
My husband thought his was decent, but not the best he's had.
I disagreed. I thought it was one of the best I've eaten, considering I've never been to Philly for an authentic one.
They're bread is great, crunch in the outside soft on the inside. But gotta tell ya, it's the roasted garlic for me. I am an avid garlic lover and smearing roasted garlic on a bun is the addition

Late review, but I used to come here occasionally when I worked down south.
I'm not a big sandwich person, but this place was quick and provided pretty large portions. I stopped eating meat before I came here so I can only attest to the grilled eggplant which was pretty solid, kind of like eating an eggplant parm except in sandwich form. Just be sure to eat it quickly, or else the bread can become soggy, making things messy.

Definitely feels like I had an off visit given Tucci's reputation, but the experience was odd and sadly the sandwiches didn't beguile us enough to make up for the service/wait time.
I ordered the tuna and it was basic. Sizable, but standard.
I love a good, hearty sandwich and that's what I was expecting from Tucci's, especially since we were on the start of a road trip and wanted to be full as to not snack, but, a gas station pit stop was in order shortly after leaving Tucci's.
