Services
Central Indiana Chimney is a small, locally owned business and we have proudly served Indianapolis and the surrounding communities for over 20 years. With that, our first goal is to protect you from unknown hazards that tend to lurk in chimneys and fireplaces; hazards that could cause great loss to you and your family, life threatening fires and/or deadly vapors.
Chimney's exhaust a number of substances from your home including smoke, soot, water vapor, and creosote. As smoke rises from your chimney, soot and creosote condense on the interior walls causing a build up. If the chimney is not cleaned, the creosote can ignite, causing a dangerous chimney fire of up to 2000 degrees.
We are constantly developing and refining our processes to insure you receive the highest quality service! We have designed and developed our own proprietary equipment for the application of Heatshield(R) Joint Repair and Resurfacing product. This specially designed equipment creates the smoothest possible finish with the most durable and reliable application in the chimney repair industry!
While there are differences among the various types of fireplaces, there are several common parts. An understanding of the basic terminology will help make your fireplace both safer and more enjoyable. Water is a chimney's worst enemy. Chimney caps keep out rain and snow. They also keep out animals, leaves and other debris.
Chimneys, fireplaces, and vents shall be inspected at least once a year for soundness, freedom from deposits, and correct clearances. Cleaning, maintenance, and repairs shall be done if necessary. This is the national safety standard and is the correct way to approach the problem.
It takes into account the fact that even if you don't use your chimney much, animals may build nests in the flue or there may be other types of deterioration that could make the chimney unsafe to use.The Chimney Safety Institute of America recommends that open masonry fireplaces should be cleaned at 1/4 of sooty buildup, and sooner if there is any glaze present in the system.

Great experience- the knowledge and professionalism displayed by Carl saved me thousands of dollars as the roofers completely mis diagnosed the problem and had I listened to them I would have wasted money on a new/repaired roof and not have done a thing to solve the water leaking issue. Carl educated the roofers, explained what was causing the water to leak, did all the necessary repairs and everything was fine- no more water leaking. Sure they are not the cheapest service out there but you get what you pay for- a correct diagnosis and all the work necessary to fix the problem done in a very professional

Our home has had a problem with an ongoing roof leak that multiple repairmen have come out to try to fix over a period of months. Central Indiana Chimney installed a custom built chase cap on our chimney within a matter of minutes and our leak is gone! They offer a life time warranty on their covers and guarantee no leaks. We appreciated their timely and dependable solutions! Excellent customer service and an honest job done that exceeded our expectations!

Having worked with Central Indiana Chimney previously on a chimney cap installation, we didn't hesitate to contact them to conduct a chimney inspection and cleaning. Shaun was excellent. The inspection revealed issues and he provided detailed pictures on the interior to identify the problem areas. Proceeded to clean the flue and we are now waiting on estimates for a gas log installation as an alternative to wood burning. Highly recommend Central Indiana Chimney. The team is fantastic to work with, very knowledgeable and professional.
