My friend and a older gentlemen took his little truck in to have a whole new engine put in. Daves charged him between $ 5000-6000. My friend drove his truck home and to work for 1 week He doesnt work ( or commute) the second week his work varies and is part time so his vehicle sits in the driveway, and by the end of that month the truck was broken down with a blown engine!, He called and brought his truck back to Daves and they indeed diagnosed the problem as a blown engine. They charged me $169.00 for a single head-light bulb for my Nissan and laughed about how much it cost. By the time I left, the bill was $280.00. Then they tried to blame me for allowing them to get away with it by saying I could have shopped around all the while my car was dismantled in the bay, and I would owe them for labor. Wish I could select 0 stars. Had my class A RV in for service. They backed into something, then told me it was a hit and run. The worst was they offered to pay for the damages, but I have not seen a single nickel after multiple inquires. Oh the check is in the mail, ... bull. I would never take an auto, truck or RV to a lying business like Dave's... worst service I have ever had.. there used to be something business owners called integrity... it's missing at Dave's. Replaced with Take the money and run.. and lie along the way..

Good communication, reasonable prices and there are still willing to work on the old stuff. They smogged my 86 Motorhome they tested, repaired a few faults and retested. While they had it I asked them to also do general service. They charged me a reasonable price for the work done. They did it quickly and it was a zero hassle experience. I will be using them again.

Needed a smog for my 99 4runner. i took it to this one place and the guy kept giving me the run a round because i had a new aftermarket cat and said i didn't have the right carb sticker for my factory installed supercharger. needless to say i got sick of the hassle and a friend recommended i try daves in ramona. i called up and was told to bring in after 1pm after the guys got back from lunch. Got there about 12:50 checked in and in no time my ride was ready. thank you for the great service!!!!

I had my vehicle smogged. When told it wouldn't pass. Kim said that the state will pay for it to pass. I took it to another smog place. And, it passed?
I asked the tech, are you sure?
I told him I just got told that it wouldn't pass without $500 worth of work.
The first thing out of his mouth?
Oh, you've been to Dave's in Ramona!
He goes on to tell me that a lot of his customers come from Dave's. He's greatful. Lots of business his way.

I Purchased a brand new awning for my RV and took it into Daves to have it installed. I was not only quoted a price of $159 when I first called, it was also given to me in writing when I dropped my rig. I was also told that it would take 1 hour for the installation. I dropped it off at 8 in the morning. Ay 3:30 I phoned and it and it was still not ready. At that time I was told by the lady answering the phone that she Needed to check with the tech and would get right back to me. When she did not call back and because I was in Mission Valley at the time I was concerned that It would not be finished

Front desk seemed caring and professional but stops there. signed an estimate for $147.00 oil change $25.00 shop foreman rudeness = free
I had Mobil one oil and filter but was 4qts short. I said I would buy the oil myself but too late they added the extra 4 themselves at 17.99 a qt I also had a connector that needed replacement on the valve they were replacing that was 35.00 used. I'm ok with that but charging 71.96 for 4 qts of oil, what a rip off. then $180 extra for labor on a plug that was removed under the original quote Only needed to splice 2 wires. Top it off my check engine light

This shop is awesome!!! My wife, son, daughter and I have been coming here for years. These ladies have been taking care of my vehicles for years. Had an issue with my motor home and had it down the hill for two months and they couldn't figure it out. I didn't realize Dave's worked on motorhomes. Took it to them last week and they immediately fixed the issue. Not only that but the cost was minimal. Kimberly and the girls have always taken the best care of me and my family. It's too bad this happened. I've used them for years to maintain 2 cars and an RV. I don't know what changed, but customer service has suffered. I had a long discussion with the owner concerning the way they "cut corners" and repaired my vehicle based upon "guessing" what the problem was and not actually doing diagnostics based on my signs and symptoms. I've been coming here for couple years now. The work that has been completed has never been an issue and completed in a timely manner. Terry, the mechanic that does the work on my truck is the best. The service in the front office is knowledgeable and amazing. I always receive call backs with updates to keep me informed on what is happening (never left wondering what's going on). 84 Fiero went in for a engine replacement. ATK remanufactured engine installed. Between 5 to 6 months the shop was encountering a problem with the car that they could not solve. Kim said it would not pass smog. Shop said it was a coolant sensor problem and having trouble locating the right coolant sensor. I have all the original new coolant sensors for that car and gave them what I had. Car still didnt work right. Asked to take car out. I already paid in full. Invoice said I previously worked on cooling fans. Never worked on the cooling fans because they always worked. Prior engine failure was

Changed the oil on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Usually I would take it straight to the dealership to have any service done on it, but I didn't have time to make an appointment that day since I didn't notice I went over the mileage to have the oil changed. They were so busy but still took me in and got it done that day! The last time I went to a regular mechanic shop they over flowed the oil to the point my exhaust was smoking for 2 days. From a 1 Star to a 5 Star! Kim (the owner) got wind about my earlier experience and really stepped in and stepped up. I brought my car back in for evaluation and she went above and beyond to rectify the situation. She replaced my whole exhaust system and fixed the welding on the 4 CATS. The rattling has stopped and the car is as strong as ever.
If there is something you are not happy with, let them know. They will fix the problem and find a solution.

My 2007 Honda Pilot needed a smog check this year to go along with my registration. I heard great things about Dave's auto, truck and RV repair, so I decided to give them a chance. I stopped in without an appointment, they took my car right away and I was done in less than 20 minutes. If you're looking for a quick smog check in Ramona, this is the place!

After going to Dave's Auto with 3 of my cars (BMW, Lexus and Volvo), for years, sadly, I will never step foot in their place again.
Small town shop that should be extremely grateful that I was loyal to them with my 3 cars but they were NOT loyal to us..
If you, the owner, make a mistake, own it and do the right thing....don't try to gouge me for your mistake and then turn it around that I'm the bad guy.
Sad, since I am a business owner and couldn't imagine treating one of my long time customers like I have been treated.
Gave them a lot of my $$ thru the years..
