It all started in the late 50's, when Mr. Gilberto Osuna Sr. began his career in the restaurant industry, working as a waiter in one of the top establishments in Mazatlan, Mexico. In the mid 70's, Mr. Osuna Sr. migrated to Ensenada, Baja CA Mexico and opened his dream restaurant known as "Casamar".

This is where Gilberto Osuna Jr. started his career and later became the CEO, turning Casamar into one of the most popular and successful restaurants in Ensenada. His passion and expertise in the restaurant lead to the founding of "La Hacienda Del Viejo", nicknamed after his father, Gilberto Osuna Sr.

We love this place, we go about once a month.
We order these two dishes and feeds all 4 of us: Nachos, either with chicken or Shredded beef, both are good & the Carnitas wet burrito. We've had other foods but these are our favorite. I would recommend going

A good quality, low key Mexican restaurant, serving variety of foods, I tried the ceviche and shrimp cocktail as starters and they were delicious

Bangin ceviche! In fact their seafood in general is on point, loved the fish tacos too. Place is much bigger than it seems, and has a very quaint feel, complete with supèr joyous Mexican music. Service was okay. Overall a solid spot.

I would not recommend this place on account of the service. We were the pretty much the only ones in there. There was one other couple leaving and another that was already finished with their meals - also a man at the bar. The service was close to nill. The whole time the waiter (and I'm guessing owner) was at the bar chatting it up with the man. Chips were decent, salsa was good. We received a complimentary soup (unsure of what it was) but it was luke warm at best. Ordered the beef enchiladas with red sauce - it was way to salty. We got a free kids taquitos which was nice. Had to wait forever
