Came here for a family event. We reserved a room with 4 tables. There was only 1 server, who was serving us food. I saw him running around and serving us food, but at the same time he remembered we need extra things for our table. Service was excellent.
Food was decent. Ribeye steak was overcooked. Cheesecake was ok. Went to the bar for a can of Diet Coke, but it tasted like club soda. I went back to the bartender and told him about that. He gave me a pitcher of Diet Coke, which tasted much better than the Diet Coke from the can. The service was definitely over powered the quality of the food

Although this place is a little outdated and in need of a renovation, the food and staff are outstanding! Everything from the sushi to the mashed potatoes to the salad and barbecued carne are delicious and outstanding. The bottomless mimosas were great. Our server, went above and beyond keeping us satisfied. The entire staff was super friendly and accommodating. We will definitely go back to Lumi's in the future. I do wish the owners would do some updating on the facility.

The Luminarias staff and customer service is amazing. I would like to personally thank Maria,
Jose Luis, Lorena, and Raffa. All were instrumental in helping my family and I celebrate my niece's graduation. The planning was made easy because they're organized. The food delicious and they were very accommodating for some of our guests who were late. Overall, the party was a success and our guests were so impressed that they too wanted to host their parties at Luminarias!

This review is for our school reunion we had September 18th. Food was great, everyone seemed to enjoy the chicken and salmon dishes. Service of the staff was also very good. The outdoor tables and chairs were pretty embarrassing though. We saw what they looked like BEFORE they covered them with linen and seat covers. Low quality and dirty.
We were NOT provided certain items for our event (microphone and podium). I emailed the event planner person and still NO REPLY.
I also observed no basic common courtesy from another event planner who didn't greet me or acknowledge my presence that morning

For starters, the venue was beautiful and the people serving us were great. But the main meal was not good. This was for a wedding and they did not allow the bride and groom to test try the food before deciding. The alcoholic beverages were alright..
Indoor restrooms are closed and only have porta potties. No wheelchair access and poor lighting at night. The steps to the porta potty are way too high and don't have hand rails. My grandma was struggling to pull herself up and nearly fell back, even with our help.

So, me and my BFF decided to come here because my regular brunch spot in San Pedro is no longer and that is the type of food that we wanted. She's been here before but I have not. So, driving here I thought I was lost because you have to go thru a residential neighborhood. They have valet parking and self parking. I self parked as it wasn't a far walk at all, plus the time we arrived parking was plenty.

My review is based on a rental, catering, venue for a family life celebration. My dearest Uncle and beloved auntie surrendered their bodies all in, with in less than a year. With heavy hearts, we all came to celebrate. The location we got has an exquisite view that truly captures a wrap-around-scenic-view of LA . Luminarias is a large restaurant seated on a hill in Monterey Park with a nice view. It's similar to Castaway (Burbank), Odyssey (GranadaHills) and Pomona Mining Company, all part of the Speciality Restaurants Corporation.
My family of over 50 people enjoyed an early Thanksgiving dinner here. We arrived at 3pm and left just before the special closing time of 5pm.
We were seated in a private room but roamed around freely through the many buffet areas. My daughter best described it as a mini Las Vegas buffet. The food options were plentiful. The only thing lacking was sushi. Options

Delicious! Absolutely delicious!! Words cant explain how tasty everything was. First time visiting Luminarias today, and couldn't be more pleased. My husband surprise me with brunch to celebrate our 19yr anniversary. From the minute we step in, they greeted us and within a few minutes we had a table. The gentleman who i believe was the manager introduce us to our waiter, ask if we were celebrating anything special, and of course we said our anniversary.. They congratulated us and told them it was our first time there. Immediately they gave us a tour around the restaurant, the lady was so nice and

Having attended several events here I had never took to the time to check out brunch. Let me say this brunch will cost a bit more than an entree restaurant but options here are endless. From carving, pasta, seafood, and breakfast stations to choose from, there is no doubt anyone can leave this place unsatisfied; most of all everything fresh. My favorite was the mexican station which had pozole, menudo, birria, carnitas, green chile chicken, and lets not forget handmade tortillas and chilaquiles at your request.

BEST KEPT SECRET! Great food! One of the largest buffets in my opinion! Some how the manage to have great food and an extremely large variety! Unlimited Mimosa is free with the buffet! Sunday any brunch cocktail is only $4.00. They have an omelette station that all providea fresh tortillas for the tacos you can make. Lots of free drink options [that come with the buffet. A beautiful view on a hill. Great place for a date!
