Since opening in 1971, Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home has remained true to the dream of its namesake and has served the community as a family-owned and operated business. Our focus has always been to provide families with exemplary care during one of life's most difficult seasons.
From a Catholic family in Illinois, Daniel F. O'Riley was raised to understand the importance of faith, family and service, all of which he lived out both in his personal and professional life.He met his wife, Mary Denise, known to family and friends as Denni, in the early 1950s while living in South Bend during an internship at a funeral home.

When you first begin the process of designing a funeral, the decisions you'll face might seem overwhelming at first. We're here to help you tackle the choices one by one and make the journey one of love, healing, and life celebration.
The process can be broken down into two stages: decisions regarding the service and how you'd like to honor your loved one's life, and decisions regarding how you'd like to care for your loved one's physical remains.Whether it's formal or informal, traditional or offbeat, a funeral provides an opportunity for family and friends to gather and support one another in taking the first steps of their healing journey.

In addition to our traditional cremation packages, Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home is pleased to offer a new option for cremation services through Simple Cremation Online. This affordable option includes cremation services only. This might be a good option for those wishing to have a memorial service in the distant future or out-of-state, or for those who have requested no formal service at all.
Even the smallest touch can make a big difference in personalizing your funeral services. There's no right or wrong when it comes to celebrating your loved one and honoring their life, accomplishments, and individuality. Personalization isn't just about honoring your loved one's individuality. It also allows family and friends to feel connected to the services and the life being honored.
When the time comes to remember our loved ones, we have a duty to honor and celebrate their life, remembering all of the wonderful moments and people that made their life meaningful. At Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home, we do not focus on the end but instead the entire path of life; that is something to celebrate!

The staff was efficient, prompt, and very personalized. They were able to get a lot of perpetrations accomplished in a short span of time. Even though they didn’t have a lot of time to prepare, quality was not sacrificed at all! Our dad looked amazing! I could not have asked for a better way to remember and honor my dad!

My husband’s funeral was a beautiful tribute to him because the staff at O’Riley worked so hard to make it so. Planning was easy and expertly guided. The photo tributes, banners and programs were a very pleasant surprise and they went the extra mile to capture him. I didnt have to worry about anything- they had it covered. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the staff At ORiley funeral home.- Susan, Ryan and Nick Armstrong

My parents and I preplanned their funerals here with Macy. My father recently passed away and we had his funeral 11/2021.This was my first experience at doing this sort of thing. They did a great job. The visitation and service was very respectful and fabulous. From the large personal picture collage at the entrance to the personalized sign in book with my father and our family personal pictures to the personalized 3 part program with pictures, prayer and write up obituary on back, we were very pleased. They did a great job on dad as he looked very peaceful. The memorial video was a beautiful touch

If I could give 20 stars for this review I would… Everyone there was so compassionate and so helpful… Helped out with a list of things that we never would’ve thought of, and helped us to get everything set… Very stressful time, and they made it so easy and helped think of everything… Such wonderful friendly people there, I would highly recommend them for anything… Even after the funeral the follow up calls, and the ability to have grief counseling if needed and all the other Extras that they provide are just amazing… Wonderful and incredible people to work with

O'Riley blew me away with everything they did for my moms service. They were extremely efficient, friendly and had great ideas for the service. I had told a few people after everything had settled down that they were the Chick-fil-A of funeral homes. Sounds odd but they did a phenomenal job. My mom had cancer for 2 years and with the pandemic a lot of people hadn't seen her. We gave them a picture of what we wanted her to look like and the person that prepared her made her look like she use to look. They did a outstanding job. O'Riley is a unique funeral because they listen to all the important details in the planning process. Even though we had done some pre-planning, there were many things the funeral home handled in a professional manner that I did not think about. This is a celebration of life of your loved one. That is how I dealt with his death. It gives you peace seeing all the beautiful memories that O'Riley provides of your loved one. All the special momentoes now mean so much to remind me of my loved one.

Macy and Elizabeth were absolutely amazing in helping us with our arrangements for my brother. They not only aided us in deciding details but have checked on us periodically to see how we all are dealing with his passing. Macy went above and beyond and came to my mother's home even to walk us through every step.

I have family that work in the funeral industry and now I understand why they said that they would only go to O’Riley. Every person that I dealt with was kind, respectful, patient and helpful. They made the unexpected and tragic death of my 19-year-old soldier son as perfect as it could have been given the circumstances. Chris was amazing. From working with the military liaison, making arrangements for the plane-side honors, reaching out to Indiana Patriot Guard Riders, visitation and the funeral, everything was seamless. He listened to what I wanted and provided guidance on the best way to achieve

The Biltz family would like to thank the entire staff at Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home for being so amazing and caring. The professionalism shown by Mike, along with his excellent communication and attention to detail, relieved us of a lot of stress. He certainly made things much easier during a difficult time. Amber did a great job with my father’s Life Board, prayer cards, video, sign in book and thank you notes. Macy worked very hard to ensure things ran smoothly and her sincere kindness was greatly appreciated. Elizabeth sent follow-up messages, checking on us which was very thoughtful
