Our company began when Sandy Rouse took a job at Edwards Funeral Home in Snow Hill, NC, what is today known as Taylor-Tyson Funeral Home. Just 17 years old, Sandy worked seven days a week for little pay. A few years later he graduated from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service to return home to Snow Hill.
Our modern fleet is equipped with everything necessary to ensure a fast, professional, dependable removal/transport of your clients loved one. Our licensed embalming staff have years of experience and specialize in handling communicable diseases and difficult cases. We are equipped to store human remains in our refrigeration system for long periods of time.

First of all I never thought I would be writing a review for a Mortuary, however My father recently passed away unexpectedly. He and my Mom were vacationing out of state and Rouse Mortuary Service & Crematory were amazing! When a family is going through one of life’s major traumas, it is comforting to know that there are people there to care for you as if you are family; Rouse did that for us. They went above and beyond to make a tragic situation less stressful and our family can’t thank them enough, If you lose someone you love I recommend Rouse. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts

Michelle and Wayne were amazing assistance during a difficult time. Less than a week before Christmas, they expedited services as soon as they could so that I could manage my father's affairs and get home to my family before Christmas. The business is practical and efficient. This keeps costs low and quality high. I pray to not have to use this service anytime soon, but if the event arose, Rouse would be my only choice. Thank you for treating my father with dignity and for getting me home for Christmas.
