Solar panels generate electricity for your home or business, but at a fraction of the cost of utility generated electricity. The solar panels can generate excess electricity during the day, which is what makes your electric meter "spin backwards". You are paid for excess electricity generation in the form of bill credits, which are then applied to offset utility company charges - that is known as "Net Metering".
Government incentives come and go. Remember Cash-For Clunkers? Just a few years ago there were also huge incentives on a vast array of other energy efficient products from electric vehicles to windows and doors, to air conditioning and furnaces, to insulation and more. Those too have now all expired or been reduced to almost nothing.

Awesome!!! Give these guys a call!!! Peter and his staff were very helpful, teaching us about solar power and helping us understand the options and installation process. They delivered on what they said, everything going like clockwork, including cleaning up work site (we couldn't even tell they had been working, apart from all new panels on the roof!). We had to work through some initial options at first, trying to agree on best panel arrangement vs. not seeing panels from the street, and in the end all was great! They helped us with all the paperwork and we are now having fun using the app, watching

Got solar put in a year ago. We didn't know how much we needed. Pete walked us through everything and provided a clear cut plan on what we needed. We ultimately went with a little extra to be sure. Now we don't pay for electricity anymore. In fact-We get money back every year. His daughter was a pleasure to work with too. Overall I would recommend them to install your solar. The crew was prompt and clean while installing as well.

I am always skeptical of large purchases where I have limited knowledge. I called about 5 companies, including Costco, before I called Peter at 180. Peter was the only one that sounded engaged in what I was looking for and even understood and minimized my skeptical concerns. He walked me though the process and gave me numerous options, and made the trade-offs crystal clear. I want to share my experience with 180 Solar. After much research with other solar companies I chose 180 Solar. This was a fantastic choice. From beginning to end Peter and his employees demonstrated a high level of customer service. I was very happy to start the process by meeting with Peter. 180 Solar is truly the best in San Diego. Timely, helpful, knowledgeable, not pushy, and just a great team. From Peter to Gene, Jose and Jazzmin, they all did a great job. The installation was quick, and we are kicking out a lot more power than I expected. If you are thinking about it, you owe it to your wallet to talk to Peter.

We just had 180 Solar complete our installation, and they were over the top. Peter is a consummate professional. Knows his stuff, does not try to over sell anything, gives great advice whenever you need it. The crew was diligent, on time, and took care not to damage any of my existing roof materials. The installation of panels was done in one day, with the other rough work prior to that only taking part of the day before. Truly a great team.

Their price was a little on the high end, but you get what you pay for. The system and controls installed were good quality. Everyone from the company that we worked with, down to the installers, was polite and courteous. Extra work was performed at no additional charge.

Peter and his team did an awesome job with our Solar. I talked with several companies before deciding to go with 180 and the key reason was Peter was more knowledgeable on providing a solution for our specific needs. We wanted to make sure we still had power even if the grid went down on a sunny day. No other vendor told us that the system will be dead in the water with a power outage because you can't risk sending power back on the lines to the people working on line repairs. Peter explained how it all works and how we could add an item to achieve use of our system even when the grid was down

I've heard some real nightmares about solar panel installation. I would love to say we did our research... but the truth is, from the friendly cold call knock on the door to a very no-pressure and informative consultation from Rob Laverty, we felt comfortable proceeding with 180 Solar Power. We interviewed 3 other solar companies over the last few years to no avail due to our limited southwest exposure. Peter at 180 Solar Power was the only one who took the time to strategically plan out the panels to maximize our power needs at the best price too! The system was installed on time with no issues. 180 Solar installed solar panels on my home last year. The process was quick and easy with no money down. Everyone I dealt with was very professional and knowledgeable, and they met every commitment in the timeframe they promised. They took care of everything, especially when SDG&E tried to pull shenanigans and claim my house had code violations where there were none (of course, they didn't want to lose another customer who they were price gouging). Towards the end of last year I decided to add solar to my home. I interveiwed several contractors. After some research i found 180 Solar, i met with the owner Peter who was very knowledgeable. He assured me all panels were made in America and that he would be there every step of the way.

My neighbors hired 180 Solar Power to install a solar system for them last year, and raved about how great they were, so when we started looking into solar we met with 180 Solar Power too.
