Philadelphia Mental Health Center (PMHC) was founded by Dr. Edward K. Parnes in 1953 as a not-for-profit organization to provide affordable professional mental health services in Philadelphia. We have a proud history. Our first Board of Directors included Pearl S. Buck, a Nobel and Pulitzer Prize winner, along with Dr. Theodor Reik, a famous student of Dr. Sigmund Freud.
With centrally located campuses in Center City and Newtown, PA, we offer a multitude of services for adults, children and families in the Greater Philadelphia Area. PMHC has Board Certified licensed child and adult psychiatrists who perform Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluations and Comprehensive Autism Assessments.
