Karim is by far the best agent I've ever worked with. He is thorough, kind, and extremely knowledgeable! Our previous agent did not seem to care about our needs and did not give us all of our options. Karim explained to us that me, my wife, and the kid could all have our own health coverage so we could go to our preferred hospital. This is definitely a 5 star review and here's why. I was having trouble with the coveredCA website -- I think it was glitching because I had an outstanding profile like 5 years old-- simultaneously I was looking up all kinds of plans and had resigned myself to a platinum HMO for great healthcare (although it looked overpriced and not that great-- every review I found of every plan made the plans sound lousy!)

This is an overdue review. Karim helped me with my mom's application back in March. When I called the Covered California service number, no one answered, and I hung up without leaving a voice message. About 1 hour later, Karim called me back! He was very responsive and always there to help. He spent time explaining the basics to me as I'm new to Covered California and gave me very helpful advice. After hearing about my mom's situation, although my mom turned out to be qualified for Medi-Cal instead, he helped me to complete my mom's online application within half an hour! He

I believe in writing 5 star reviews where credit is due and when business owners have earned it. My experience with Karim is that he has always been first very responsive, helpful, and saved me a a great deal of expense. Another insurance broker from another company wanted to charge me insurance fee "search" which is technically not legal. Insurance agents typically get reimbursed by insurance companies, so other insurance broker was technically double dipping. Additionally, place I was working with required a letter. Karim was kind enough to take the time to help me with that.

If you're reading all these terrific things about Karim let me tell the real up and up here... they are all true! I've emailed Karim morning, noon and night with questions regarding Covered California and he not only responds, but often in a matter of minutes. He is extremely knowledgeable, polite and friendly.

At school, they don't teach you about healthcare. It's easy to feel lost once you're no longer apart of your parents' insurance. Trying to get through Covered CA's main line or an agent they give you is tough.
I found Agent Karim via Yelp. He was extremely kind, patient, and understanding. Rather than me working around his schedule, he worked with mine -- no matter what time it was so I could get things done within a timely manner of deadlines. He went above and beyond to work with me step by step, answer any questions
