North Raleigh Pediatrics is dedicated to the health of your child. In addition to our normal sick and well visits, we offer asthma management and in-office or hospital newborn circumcision. Our certified asthma educator can perform spirometry, teach proper inhaler and spacer techniques and, with your doctor's help, create an asthma plan.
North Raleigh Pediatrics consists of caring, experienced pediatricians and specialists who go out of their way to care for their pediatric patients and their families. Dr. R received his medical degree at Vanderbilt Medical School in 1986 and completed pediatric residency at UNC, Chapel Hill. He was certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1991, with latest re-certification in 2012.
At North Raleigh Pediatric Group, we always do our best to promptly see new patients for well-child physical exams and routine care visits. For acutely sick patients, we offer same-day availability. When scheduling your first appointment, please advise our staff that you are a new patient. If your child has special needs, please also let our staff know so that our Pediatrician and Care Coordinator can assist with planning for your visit.

If you do not hear from us within 72 hours, you may come by the office and pick up the requested prescription. Being a first time mom and having to have a pediatrician once you and baby leave the hospital was nerve racking. Especially during the pandemic. When I called they were so warm and welcoming. I love all the staff and I refer all my friends who are looking for a new pediatrician. Dr. F is amazing!!!!!!

Dr Frerichs And his staff continue to be amazing !!! We Moved from NJ to NC two years ago and started with this office since then. It was the smoothest transition; especially through this pandemic. North Raleigh Pediatrics has been a saving grace as a first time mother. They are so patient and caring toward the children, and just as patient and caring toward the parents. All of the doctors are willing to slow down and educate. We have had the best medical experience there that we have ever seen. We moved an hour away and will still be forever dedicated to the practice and especially Dr. F and Dr. Kirwin. I truly trust their medical expertise with my daughters life!

I can’t say enough positive things about North Raleigh Pediatrics. Dr. Frerichs is an ideal pediatrician, especially for first time parents. He gave us his cellphone number (which I have already used several times) and always fits us in no matter what the concern is. He is gentle, wise, and compassionate. Exactly the kind of doctor you would want caring for your child.
The lactation consultant, Lindsay, is an angel! I have always felt supported and comforted by her even when my breastfeeding journey came to an early end.

My daughter has been a patient here for over the past year. After not finding a pediatrician that we were comfortable with, we decided to try NRPG, even though it is a 30 minute drive for us. We are very very thankful for finding this amazing practice. The attention to detail, personal touch, and willingness to work with the multiple specialists my daughter requires is priceless. North Raleigh Pediatrics is the best pediatric provider in the Raleigh area, without exception. Although we now live 45 minutes away from the practice, we continue to visit them for our children. Dr. Frerichs is our primary pediatrician and has been for over 15 years. Over the years we have worked with many of the doctors within the practice and all are excellent however, Dr. Frerichs is our primary due to his professionalism, integrity, and exemplary knowledge and care demonstrated towards the care and health of his patients. I can't say enough how fortunate my family was to find North Raleigh Pediatric Group. Their office has all of the typical necessities for parents - early and late appointments, same day sick appointments, friendly and efficient staff and physicians. But more importantly, they are invested in the care of their patients. My daughter has required more attention than the typical child, and they have been there every step of the way. We don't feel like we're just a number in the system - the care is designed specifically for her.

We have been a part of NR Pediatric Group since our oldest was a newborn, over 5 years ago. We have always felt like family at this practice. We adore Dr F, and feel like he truly cares for our boys and their well being. We recently visited this past weekend for a sick visit and met the new NP, Susan. She was wonderful!! So thorough, friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. She even called the next day-herself-, to check on our baby boy! I was so thankful for that, and we are so happy and impressed to have her on staff now as well. We walk in and the front desk staff knows us and our boys by name

Wonderful care for my family! Dr Susan is the most nurturing and knowledgeable doctor who genuinely cares about her patients. I am a mother of two daughters and I am so grateful they are in the care of such an incredible Doctor. My oldest daughter is 10, and suffers from anxiety. Susan has such a way of making her feel comfortable and at ease, by breaking down and explaining things. If I need to contact her incase of an emergency, she is there for me right away!
