I've been meaning to check this place out for years and finally had an excuse to last night. It's much bigger than it looks from the outside and not quite as intimate as I was expecting though I enjoyed the ambiance and decor. Good for groups and dates, and probably even for kids given the pizza options.
I had the "creste de gallo al nero" which was a really unusual pasta dish but delicious. Very flavorful and not too rich/heavy. My companion enjoyed the chicken alla cacciatore - his one small complaint was that it would have been nice to have a small side like potatoes, etc

Not a destination for a special evening. Seems to be struggling, but had been recently recognized (2020) by Michelin. Many families, couples, and trios come to share the pizza, which is priced well below the cost of a medium reputation red sauce restaurants at $18. If they shunt you to the back room, it feels like you are in a poorly staffed pizza parlor.
After 9 on a weekend evening, they seated a couple with three children below the age of 5. The restaurant was so poorly lit that many patrons used cell phone flashlights to read the menu.

Went there last night and had a great experience! They have a great selection of wine and cocktails (I had a spritz and an old fashioned) and I love how you can order small portions of pasta so you can try more than just one. The good food combined with the great decor & ambiance (good music but not too loud to hear the people at your table talk) make this one of my favorite restaurants in Lakeview.

My significant other and I had tickets to the laugh factory down the block and needed to leave by 6:20PM with our reservation beginning at 5PM. We conveyed this to the restaurant when we made the reservation and they accommodated us so wonderfully!
We never once felt rushed and all the food and drinks came out in a timely manner.

I was excited to try this neighborhood restaurant finally but was not thrilled with it. I thought the food was good and worth trying again, but the service was lacking and the ambience was non existent. The server took forever to bring our orders and got our food order wrong. The desert of warm cookie skillet with gelato was basic. The arancini were decent. The olives and bread were very good. The branzino and the orrechiette were good. But i had ordered the orrechiete without sausage and it came with.
Overall a good but not great experience and definitely worth the try if you are in that neighborhood

What a beautiful location. The food was so yummy and the drinks were delicious. It seems like they have a rotating menu so some things on Yelp were not available. We got the Brussels sprouts, Margherita pizza and Calabrese pizza. I wish the Calabrese pizza was a little spicier but it was all delicious nonetheless. I usually don't love aperol spritz, but I got the aperol Betty which is an aperol spritz + grapefruit and it was amazingly refreshing. I would absolutely order all the same foods again but I am looking forward to trying new foods as well

The food was awesome! The atmosphere lovely. The service was attentive. So why isn't this a 5 star review? Because the owner is slipping a 20% COVID charge onto your bill. There is no signage alerting you to this. It is not disclosed on the menu; and it seems they expect you to tip on top of this 20% COVID charge. I get it times are tough but this makes me never want to go back, so now you've lost repeat business. A shortsighted policy to have long lasting, ill affects.

7:35- seated, our reservation was for 7pm and we had arrived at 6:55
7:50- ordered food
8:15- appetizer showed up, no cocktails yet
8:20- server asked if we wanted dessert, told her we didn't even have our mains or drinks yet
8:35- cocktails show up 45+ min after ordering them. bar had not been busy (had a view of it) so not sure what the holdup was or if our order was just not entered on time
9:10 pm- server ask us if we want dessert again, we ask about our pizza that was ordered 90 min earlier

The food and service were good, but this restaurant surprises its guests with a 20% "dine in surcharge" on the final bill. The waiter explained it is due to COVID. 20% seems crazy high especially when no obvious covid safety measures are seen in the restaurant. At the very least, this charge should be communicated up front to customers.

Absolutely love Ceres Table! Last week we had a Grassl Glass company dinner here. Everything from the service to the food and wine was exceptional! Great atmosphere- the spacing of the tables was more than… ideal, as well. Oftentimes owners cram as many tables in an area and it becomes very loud and claustrophobic. This wasn't the case here. It was easy to relax and enjoy the evening. I'm also gluten-free and the selection was delicious! I particularly enjoyed roasted baby beets and the tagliatelle bolognese with the substitute of GF noodles.

So I'd been here a couple times last year and was surprised when I recently looked at the Bib Gourmand list and saw Ceres' listed as my first two visits from memory didn't rock my world....so I thought I'd give it another crack and I'm glad I did.

It is unfortunate when you go to a restaurant and you look at the delicious looking menu, pick some tasty sounding treats, but then the server comes by and tells you that they are out of that particular item… tonight. Working in the industry for over 15 years, sure it happens and it’s usually something out of your control. But 5 popular menu items? One of the best vegetable options plus the chicken? No burrata? Came by for an early dinner on Monday and was seated promptly at the bar. The bartender David was extremely friendly and helpful in sorting through the menu. I opted for the Trio since it's such a good deal, as well as some bread on the side.
The bread was served warm with a light butter, very filling and delicious. The sausage pizza was perfect - great flavors and texture. I could only finish half by myself, so I would consider sharing this with a friend. The highlight of the meal, however, was the budino - an incredibly tasty and appropriately sized dessert

Ceres' Table was absolutely outstanding when I brought my wife there for our 10-year anniversary. We shared the whole grilled branzino and the braised short ribs with creamy polenta. The service was warm and sophisticated, and my favorite part of dinner was, oh my god, the wine list. Ceres' Table's wine list is unmatched anywhere else in the neighborhood. 5 stars!

Holy mother of all things glorious. Went with a group of friends for my birthday and I had the best meal of my 37 years. Absolutely fantastic from apps to dessert. Highly recommend you make room for a small bowl of pasta to go along with a TO DIE FOR hangar steak. Their egg white cocktail was delicious, too. The ambiance inside was beautiful and our server was just delightful. She accommodated our vegetarian friend with no qualms. I sincerely hope to be back!
