Allergy & Immunology Medical Center
A correct and thorough understanding of why your body is having a reaction is the best way to conquer allergies. Understanding why is where we excel and the primary reason AIMC is Austin's allergy authority. Our patients receive the best combination of award-winning compassionate care along with advanced clinical expertise, so Austin-area allergy sufferers get the best outcome in the shortest possible time.

Dr. Patel is one of Austin's only physicians with specialized expertise in vocal cord dysfunction (VCD). He has extensive experience. When a patient has lived with the symptoms associated with asthma--wheezing, bronchial restriction--it can often come as a surprise that they may in fact have similar conditions that are not, in fact, asthma.
Services
One in 5 Americans suffer from allergies including indoor/outdoor, food & drug, latex, insect, skin and eye allergies. Understanding the cause of your allergic symptoms is our specialty. In Austin, allergies often spike when allergens such as cedar pollen, grass, ragweed and mold bring on symptoms like watery eyes and sneezing.
Asthma is a disease of the lungs in which the airways become blocked or narrowed causing breathing difficulty characterized by shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, and other symptoms. This chronic disease affects 20 million Americans. If an asthma episode is severe, a person may need emergency treatment to restore normal breathing.
The skin is the body's largest organ and one of the immune system's first lines of defense. When allergens affect the skin it can produce a number of reactions. From swelling, to itchy rashes and hives, when the skin is affected patients can experience extreme discomfort. Atopic dermatitis is a common chronic skin disease characterized by a defect in the skin barrier protein fillagrin.
The sinuses are a system of interconnecting hollow cavities in the skull. Mucosa, the lining of the sinuses, can get inflamed. This can result in an obstruction to the sinus pathways, which often causes the condition known as sinusitis. There are some factors that can lead to the inflammation of the mucosa (sinusitis) such as allergies, reflux disease, deviated septum, a common cold, nasal polyps, and other chronic diseases.
Our goal at Allergy & Immunotherapy Medical Center is to work successfully as a team with our patients toward achieving the best possible outcome. We are committed to ensuring you know what to expect from the moment you arrive. You will receive the utmost personal attention and expert care throughout our relationship as your healthcare partner.

I would give 0 stars if I could. While I can not speak for the services that are provided here, I can speak about my opinion on Dr. Patel's attitude. From an interaction with him on a work related phone call, he was extremely arrogant, rude, and unprofessional.

Dr. Patel is highly knowledgeable and is up-to-date with the latest information in the field. I did a week-long rush treatment with Dr. Patel and they were accommodating to me needing to work from the room while there. I was basically able to work like normal, as if working from home. The treatments were successful, and I went from not being able to sleep at all due to my allergies, to them being only a minor annoyance once a year during cedar season.

Dr. Patel & Team are wonderful. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they make patients feel welcome. Dr. Patel is very detailed oriented and a great doctor. Everyone there goes out of their way to provide great service and they do not shy away from non-standard services.
I highly recommend AIM Medical Center.
