A welcome table with badges greets guests of a corporate event at the North Garden Theater. Saved from the wrecking ball 100 years after it was built, the North Garden Theater boasts a rich history of use as a neighborhood movie theater. In 2017, the space opened as a re-imagined, elegant, industrial-chic event center ideal for weddings, receptions, celebrations, corporate functions, and performances!
Cast iron trusses float high in the air below 20 foot tall wood ceilings supported by century old brick pilasters. This historic setting is highlighted with black carriage house sconces and scrolly chandeliers. The North Garden Theater seats up to 150 guests and features theatrical lights, sound, and media, raised stage, dressing rooms, catering kitchen, full bar, and open concept space to plan the event of your dreams.

Our mission is to provide an elegant venue where special events flourish and where individuals, groups, and artists feel empowered to utilize the space. The old Garden Theater found on West 7th (or Fort Road back in the day) in St. Paul, Minnesota, enjoyed its heyday in the first half of the 20th century showing movies.
Ryan and Tina bring a rich history of hands on retail experience, attentive customer service, and theatrical production. These skills along with their down to Earth approach to event management make for a truly pleasant, thorough, and creative experience. From planning to cleaning up after the event, Ryan and Tina excel at making your event a memorable one.
We share our lot with a church and school, so our parking lot is available on Saturdays, Sundays after 1pm, weekdays, and after 5pm on weekdays when school is in session. Free street parking is available but limited. Because our theater is located in a mixed business and residential area, we encourage you to purchase our LOT PARKING for weekend and evening events for only $2 (tax included).

We are now offering private tours of the North Garden Theater for potential renters who have a date chosen for their event or performance within 16 months. Please also check the list below to see if your event idea is a right match for our venue. If the date of your event is outside of 16 months, we encourage you to see an upcoming public performance at the North Garden Theater.

I got married here. Great venue, no complaints. Family staff was easy to work with and they did a nice job making people feel comfortable. I'd recommend as a wedding venue for a small to medium sized wedding. I guess I'm not much of a review writer, but it was good enough for me to bother to write one.

This place is absolutely amazing! Ryan & Tina went above and beyond to help create such a fantastic night for my parents! I could not have been more happy for the way everything turned out. I wish I could give this place 100 stars! Thank you again Ryan and Tina! What a special night it was to honor such incredible people in our lives. You made sure it was a night to remember!!!

NGT is amazing! Planning a wedding in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic had many challenges. It meant so much to us to have a vendor who was willing to work with us and help us create the evening we wanted. They quickly adapted to our needs as MN regulations changed over and over. Ryan & Tina were so easy to work with and planning the details was a breeze. They made sure all our tastes were accommodated.
On the day of the wedding, Ryan, Tina and their son were on top of everything. They helped so much with decorations, sound, lighting and last minute tasks.

2020 has taught us to have flexibility and patience. Ryan and Tina are stewards of both. We were supposed to have our 145-person wedding at the North Garden Theater in April of 2020 – but like the rest of the world – everything was turned upside down due to Covid-19. We chose to dial back our guest list to just immediate family, and hosted a much smaller version of our wedding and reception at the North Garden Theater in August of 2020. Not only were Ryan and Tina incredibly flexible in allowing us to move our date – they were eager to provide creative solutions on how to make a smaller event

We attended the Frozen Film Festival. Wow ! I was truly honored to be in the same room with so much talent. Looking forward to see great things from these writers , producers and actors. Also the the performances by the local rappers what my absolutes favorite. Moon Music Affiliates (MMA) I'm a life long fan.

Reasons why I love The NGT:
1. Ryan and Tina were AWESOME to work with - very quick to get back to emails and answer questions. Super accommodating with all the vendors I was working with and I felt like I could customize EVERYTHING with them (down to the jalapeno margaritas that Tina and Ryan prepared!).
2. So reasonably priced! Security was included with our rental, they helped with parking, set a beautiful ambiance of the space, included tables and chairs (and helped with setup and tear down), did a custom marquee message, and so much more. We had the venue from early afternoon all the way
