At Ed Shaw Law, we have built our reputation on providing practical, accessible legal guidance for our neighbors in Brainerd, St. Cloud and surrounding communities. Client charged with two serious felonies, and two other charges. Attorney Ed Shaw employed an expert and investigator and prepared a vigorous defense after the matter was scheduled for jury trial. A week prior to trial, all charges against the client were dismissed. The client could not have asked for a better new year's gift.
Ed graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Law and has been an attorney in private practice for 25 years helping people get through a variety of difficult situations. He prides himself in offering no nonsense legal advice and is licensed in Wisconsin as well. In addition to being a licensed attorney, Ed is a Licensed Real Estate Broker as well.
Minnesota native Allen J. Peterson is a 2017 graduate of the University of St. Thomas - School of Law. He focused heavily on criminal prosecution during law school and chose to diversify himself early in his career. Allen has experience as both a prosecutor and defense attorney as well as child protection (CPS/CHIPS) representation in juvenile proceedings, and an extensive background in family law.
Born in South Dakota, raised in Iowa, and now practicing law in Minnesota, Blake is the very definition of a Midwestern lawyer. He attended the University of Iowa, graduating in 2004 and received a bachelor's degree in English literature and philosophy. After college, he went to Drake Law School in Des Moines, Iowa.

Alan peterson ripped me off $4000 dollars.didnt file motions then up and quit stating he was threatened..not the truth he took advantage of me and only returned 138.00 dollars..had to go pay another attorney 1500 to clean up his inexperience unorganized mess and im still not divorced. U sir owe me 3000.00..bet small claims awards me my money..fyi gave info out to other side about my case and took 3 weeks to get file from him and is incomplete all my reciepts and docs were missing..thanks alan real professional of you..see u in court

Child support/custody case here. this law firm is amazing. Ed’s entire team is phenomenal. Hannah is articulate and very influential and informative about everything she finished my case and did an amazing job and went above and beyond and I am grateful for her. If it weren’t for this law firm I don’t know where I’d be, my case was mainly custody and I wanted to focus on that primarily due to my daughters fathers past abuse and her custody went up in the air because when she was born we were NOT married and that frightened me, Ed was understanding about concerns and started my paper work

I did a Bankruptcy with Ed Shaw Law office. Ed was pleasant, helpful and caring during a challenging time in my life. His assistant Cathy was absolutely TOP NOTCH. She was very helpful navigaing through all the paperwork and how the process worked. Periodically I've had quick legal related legal questions/ issues and Ed would promptly call me and took the time to listen. His advice has always been helpful. I am extremely grateful to Ed Shaw Law for their professionalism and how they made a difficult situation a great deal easier. Taking the steps necessary were scary to say the least, however the moment we met with Mr. Shaw and his staff we were put at ease. They walked us through every step and were always available to answer our questions.
