Amy Romano is a licensed esthetician practicing in the East Bay since 1998. Trained by master Esthetician Malvina Doroshenko in clinical and European style skin care at Zenzis of San Francisco, Amy also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal studies from Long Beach State University.
Prior to becoming an esthetician, Amy worked in the nutrition field for 10 years and has a working knowledge of holistic health care. Amy embraces the European Philosophy that skin care is an extension of health care and treats the skin with holistic and natural products. My mom, my sister and I have been seeing Amy for almost 10 years. She completely saved my skin in high school and continues to take great care of me and my family. She is kind, professional and super knowledgeable. I still use skin advice she gave me when I was 16. She is THE best esthetician in Oakland, hands down.

I have had my waxing done by Amy for a long time. She is expert, professional, friendly and thorough. Even though I have moved away, I still keep coming back to her for service because she is so good! Her studio is so relaxing, appealing and ultra clean, it is a pleasure to return each time. Amy is a kind, caring and gentle person. Even though having waxing done is not my favorite activity, Amy makes it a most positive experience by virtue of her talent and who she is as an individual.

Amy is the best-kept secret in Oakland! I have been working wih her on my skin, makeup, brows and waxing for almost 7 years. She is knowledgeable, gentle, professional, and funny, too. I have trusted Amy with my eyebrow and lip waxing for several years. She is an artist, both in her meticulous shaping of my eyebrows and the relatively pain-free process. At other salons, I would break out in a rash or pimples after getting waxed, but very seldom do I react badly when I go to Amy. Amy's salon is quiet, clean, and she is always welcoming and friendly. She has given skin care advice to my teenage daughter. Amy is awesome! I love her.

I first went to Amy in 2005 on the recommendation of a friend. I was in a complete panic as I was re-connecting with a former love after 16 years and wanted to look my very, very best. While I loved Amy, I didn't like the salon she was in at that time. I came back to Amy when she moved into her current location, which is relaxing, quiet and lovely. I appreciate what Amy does - she is very skilled, knowledgeable, and one of the nicest people you will ever meet. I love that she uses Pevonia products, they are fantastic. Going to see Amy is like diving into a beautiful waterfall pool on Kaui

Amy Romano is GREAT! I went to her when she was at her old salon in Montclair and I must say, she knows what she is doing. She is sweet, friendly, listens to what you want (i.e. eyebrow shape, amount of hair you want removed, skin sensitivity issues, etc.) and is always willing to offer product advice if you ask, but doesn't push it on you ... and she is really good at making you feel at ease unlike some salons I have gone to that make you feel like cattle or ashamed of your body because it actually grows hair in places they don't find acceptable (gasp!).

I, too, have been seeing Amy since she was with Natural Expressions. I have been getting waxed for years and she is one of the best in the business. I never have any difficulties with ingrown hairs after seeing her, which I used to get, and she's thorough and quick. Amy is not only a complete professional, but a great person as well!

I've been seeing Amy since she was at Natural Expressions salon in Montclair. She is a wonderful esthetician. Her waxing skills are superb! No matter how unmentionable your hairy unmentionables may be (ahem), she does a meticulous job when it comes to hair removal. She is super-experienced (I think she's been in the business for about a decade). She is always professional and polite and very, very sweet.
I am so happy that Amy has her new spot. Her private studio is clean, modern, with very convenient parking. I like it much better than Natural Expressions--that salon was okay
