MIL offers numerous metal finishing processes. These methods improve the surface finish of a material. After finishing, parts may have improved performance in specific environments, abrasion resistance, color dyes, etc. MIL features a wide variety of coating types. The aim of applying coatings is to improve surface properties of a material.
The appearance, adhesion, wetability, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, scratch resistance, etc., of a part can be upgraded. They may be applied as liquids, gases or solids. Nondestructive testing, or NDT, is a valuable and useful process, as it does not require the disassembly, dissection, or general sacrifice of a part or material.

Services
Our overall vision encompasses the values of the past and incorporates technology of the future. It is our goal to provide the services you request to comply with your particular requirements. MIL was formed based on meeting the needs of our customers. When we started in 1942, MIL was a one-man operation performing magnetic particle examinations on parts for the U.S. Government.
Approvals: The design authority on the engineering drawing shall be used to determine approval status. Otherwise, procurement documents must clearly define the design authority when shop op. Drawings: Drawings and associated ECO's, ECN's and Parts List's etc. are essential to a robust contract review and comprehensive planning process.

Welding is the melting and fusing together of two items using the heat of an electric arc. The main welding processes used at MIL are Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW). This process utilizes an electric arc formed between a tungsten electrode and the work. Separate filler material may be added depending on the joint design.
Nondestructive testing, or NDT, is a valuable and useful process, as it does not require the disassembly, dissection, or general sacrifice of a part or material. Liquid Penetrant inspection (often abbreviated PT, FPI or LPI) is a nondestructive inspection method that provides detection of flaws open to the surface.
