Salon Ayano was founded in 2010 by Rick Gustafson who worked in the industry over 30 years. It was always his dream to open his own salon where he could work with a group of stylists that are also dedicated to quality and integrity within the hair industry. After his passing in 2019, we are proud to continue his legacy and vision with the help of his husband, Michael McConville.
A technique for highlighting the hair in which the dye is painted on in such a way as to create a graduated, natural-looking effect. Semi-permanent smoothing, straightening, anti-frizzing and conditioning system which lasts 3-6 months. Additional information can be found here. Contemporary styling care.
I was born into this industry! Having two parents as hair stylists growing up it was only a matter of time before I ended up behind the chair as well! Within these past 7 years of cutting and coloring hair I realized that this is the most naturally creative job for me. I enjoy working with all hair types and especially love marrying cut and color to compliment your face shape and skin tone.
Schedule Online: You will be taken to our online booking site where you can create or update your profile, check appointment availability and schedule appointments online with the stylist of your choosing. Please extend us the courtesy of cancelling or rescheduling your appointment at least 24 hours in advance.
Rick was wonderful and really knowledgeable. He was able to provide the best treatment and recommendations for my hair and I left extremely happy with it! I'll definitely be coming back. My experience is always top notch! Wonderful atmosphere as soon as I enter the doors. Everyone is friendly! Rick is great!

I had a Haircut with Alexandra Schultz and she was great! Exceeded my expectations completely and gave a much needed post COVID rebirth to my hair. I cut my hair myself and ruined it during the pandemic + my ends were really dry, but Alexandra was able to fix it and make it look AWESOME and healthy. She massaged my head while washing my hair which was the cherry on top; she is professional, friendly, definitely delivered good quality service and attended me right on time. The place is clean and modern, will be coming back!

Everyone is very friendly and Doug was great at giving me his recommendations based off my hair type. He asked me a lot of questions and I felt like he really cared about what I wanted. I did a cut and color and it turned out perfect! I have gotten so many compliments and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

I LOVE Salon Ayano. Alexandra, my hair stylist, is the utmost in professionalism, but is so down to earth and personable. She makes you feel comfortable right out of the gate. I had someone do my hair for 30 years prior to Alexandra, so it was hard to trust a new person to take over my hair. And instantly it was a fit! She has a ton of knowledge about hair, a great knack for looking at your face and your coloring and knowing what will look good and what might not. And styling? WOW. I struggle to find anyone that knows how to style my curly hair. But she GETS it! The salon is SO clean and stylish

Robby is absolutely awesome! He’s been cutting my hair for a while now and after the first time, I’ve never gone to anyone else! He knows what I want and does an amazing job every time. Super friendly as well. And the scalp massage at the hair wash station is the icing on top!

Dlaon Ayano is the absolute best salon in Seattle in my opinion. The staff treats everyone tremendously. Doug has been cutting my hair now for over 30 years and I can't imagine having anyone else cut my hair. Salon Ayano is my little get away piece of heaven in Seattle that I always look forward to every 4 weeks.

I am new to Seattle and found this salon from a google search. Alexandra helped save my hair from a terrible botched dye job. I was able to get a consultation quickly and she took me in the next day. Just got my hair done by Alexandra, and I love it!! Alexandra has been my hairstylist for two years. After moving to Seattle, I tried several different stylists before finding Alexandra by chance. She is so amazing that when she told me she was changing salons and moving to Salon Ayano, I was so grateful she told me and also had no hesitation that I would follow her to the new salon. She colors my red hair perfectly every time (and reds are not easy!) and she listens to what I want. She also is the master of layering my long thick hair so it doesn't look too heavy (she is the only person ever who has been able to do this to my satisfaction

Before finding Alexandra, I bounced around from salon to salon, but once she cut and styled my hair, I stopped searching! She is a great listener, confident, and incredibly kind. Alexandra has been cutting my hair for a couple of years now and what makes that significant is that I always have many bizarre request and designs. She always goes with the flow & is positively open to the challenges that I throw at her. Her demeanor is so sweet and sincere I absolutely adore her and look forward to my haircuts. I think hair stylist have a magic to their career. If they're doing it right, you walk out feeling wonderful and I always have that with Alexandra. I know her family has been in the salon business for a long time, it's in her blood. Color is also her magic

If you are looking for an experienced, fun, educated stylist Alexandra is the one! She masters a balance of creativity and skill. Alexandra is hands down the easiest person to talk to..and let's be real a hairstylist is also a friend, mentor and life coach at times!
I have never felt more at ease with a stylist. Every time I walk out of the salon after seeing her, I feel like a damn model with bouncy perfect hair! She keeps up to date on the newest trends if you are feeling like a change, but no matter what I guarantee you will feel vibrant and refreshed. Who doesn't want that?!

Had an amazing appointment with Rick for a full foil & haircut. He was sooo nice about my crazy looking damaged hair, and he did a great job maintaining length while getting rid of the frayed ends. I was so happy walking out of there, and if I lived in Seattle this would be my new salon! Highly recommend.

Tahara at Salon Ayano has been cutting my hair for a couple years, so she was an obvious choice to style my hair for my big day. She was so accommodating that we ended up doing two hair trials because she texted me after the first one to tell me she wanted to do another one just so I was 100% confident in how it would look on my big day. The execution day-of looked AWESOME, and it stayed put through all the crazy late-night dancing. Couldn't have been happier!

Teresa has been doing my hair for over 10 years and Tahara for about 6 now. They are such amazing stylists, and I always leave happy.
I think I have gone through every color, cut, and style imaginable with these people and they have been great through it all, they are very knowledgeable and will tell you the truth when it comes to your hair.
They sell Kevin Murphy and Glidewell hair products which I can't live without. The dry shampoo by Kevin Murphy
