Services
Our academy began in 1997 under the direction of world-renowned artist Samay-specializing in the Egyptian style and folklore-inspired dances. Today, we are proud to still offer a wide range of courses, which continue to be available through the School of Continuing Education & Professional Development at Miami Dade College.
NAR is Mid East Performing Arts Academy's premiere dance troupe! This group of extraordinary women beautifully showcase the works of our MEPAA choreographers at numerous festivals and theater productions around South Florida (Nar means "fire" in Arabic). The passion, talent and energy of each dancer truly spark in every performance.
During the pandemic, we have restructured our classes for the safety of all attending. All of our classes now offer a blended learning environment. Dancers can attend in person (space permitting) or from the safety of their own home (via our virtual learning platform). This means that dancers from out of town can also attend!
We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy at home, but also want to make sure that this quarantine doesn't stop us from dancing! This art form has been such a beautiful and unique way to bring so many of us together, and we won't let anything stop that. NEW* We are now offering our 6-week semesters taught at Miami Dade College (Kendall Campus) as blended courses!

What an incredible dance program. I’ve been a dancer my entire life but this school has honestly exceeded my expectations! The teachers are patient, engaging, fun and super super talented! What I love most is the authenticity and rounded education. Not only do you learn the dance moves, you also learn the history and geography of where they originate from. It’s such a breath of fresh air. It’s been a mental health relief for me during Covid. If I could give them a million stars I would. 10/10 highly recommend! Bring your friends, family and coworkers no matter the age, body type or level

After the pandemic I’ve decided to do what I’ve always wanted and it was to learn how to Bellydance. What I like the most is the instructors professionalism and knowledge towards the culture, the costumes, rhythms, and dancing styles, they teach you all about it besides dancing. The classes are fun, stress free to follow, and if you don’t know they help you and care for your performance. I’m a newbie and I love my me time learning Bellydance :)

I have tried several dance schools and instructors between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, but I found my home at MEPAA. Never have I experienced a set of instructors who are not only skilled and talented but equally passionate and diligent about preserving the art of the dance, it's culture and what it represents to the dance community. You feel like a family when you come to dance in the studio and are immediately welcomed by the sisterhood here. Not only do you learn the incredible moves, but you also learn and understand the origins of the dance. By far one of th best experiences I have ever had

This academy has been my home for over 15 years. It has given me the chance to meet incredible women, break out of my shell, and achieve my dance dreams. I recommend all of you who are looking for a passionate and authentic Middle Eastern or Central Asian dance environment to study with any of the amazing instructors. You won't regret it! They have classes of all levels and many chances to dance on stage in beautiful costumes. This school instilled a passion for this magnificent culture that will never go away.

I came to this program 3 years ago. One of the best decisions I believe I've ever made. The teachers here are so passionate for this art form. You can see it through how they teach their class and especially when they perform. If you have ever been interested in learning the different styles of Belly Dancing this is where you need to be.

3-4yrs ago, I started belly dancing at MEPAA out of pure curiosity. I honestly didn’t know that this art form would become my 2nd passion and I that would meet such wonderful group of ladies in the process. We’ve become a family and the memories we’ve created will last me a lifetime. Belly dancing and it’s different styles are complex. The instructors are passionate and will give you an authentic learning experience.
