The credit goes to the do-it-yourself crowd. All ages, especially the younger crowds, are flocking to fabric stores after watching television shows such as Project Runway and getting ideas from content sharing services such as Pinterest.
All 100% cotton fabrics at Suddenly Sewing are perfect for mask making. We only stock artist quality quilting cottons. What makes quilt shop fabrics different? Fabrics manufactured for independent quilt shops are printed on higher quality gray goods. The thread count is higher resulting in a more tightly woven and greater quality end product.

NEVER SEWN: This level is for those of you that think sewing sounds fun, but you have never even had the opportunity to sit down in front of a machine or the last time you touched a machine was back in home economics class. Suddenly Sewing is amazing! They have incredible customer service and the staff is helpful and friendly. I needed supplies for a service project (sewing dresses for girls in poverty to prevent human trafficking), and Michael set up a donation that was extremely generous and thoughtful. He was responsive and kind (when many other businesses were not); and I received the materials promptly. I will come to suddenly sewing with any sewing needs I may have in the future, and I cannot recommend, or thank them, enough!

Sewing machine service. Michael is awesome. He contacts you if a need arises or if you ask him too. My machine always purrs after service. They are quite busy, sometimes it takes a couple weeks but I have a spare so it doesnt matter to me. I have never asked for expedited service but if necessary, it doesnt hurt to ask...beg...explain. I drive 40 mi to ensure professional service.

This place is fantastic! They are all incredibly kind and helped me figure out my mom’s old sewing machine. Kathy specifically was so patient as I asked a ton of questions and threaded my machine in front of her to make sure I did it correctly. I also got my machine cleaned and it is running smoothly! I can’t wait to take a class with them.

I took my sewing machine for repair/annual cleaning last fall, multiple times, and it was inferred that I didn't know how to thread my sewing machine of 14 years. Since problem was never resolved I took it to another shop, they looked at it while I was there, said my "bobbin hook" point had broken off, they ordered the part and it was fixed 10 days later. However, I had to pay another $100 to re-set timing after the part replacement which I'd already paid Suddenly Sewing two months earlier. Love the service and friendly staff. I live in 550 miles south of Ft. Worth in an area where all the quilt shops have closed. I found Suddenly Sewing on Facebook and have been in love ever since. They have Facebook live sales every Monday night that has some fantastic finds, in fact my fabric stash has taken over my room, in a good way. I have not been disappointed in anything I have gotten from them. They also are offering Zoom classes on various techniques. I cannot recommend them any higher. If you need help on anything sewing related this is the place to contact.

This is a new location for Suddenly Sewing that gives them some great space to work in. This was our first time visiting and we found a number of unique fabrics that met what we were looking for. The fabric collection is not expansive, but what they have in stock is well thought out and works well together.
There are a number of projects up on the wall to get your interest going, and you can find many of the supplies needed for them right there on the shelves.

I have always loved Suddenly Sewing, in their old location, and their new location. We moved out of state for awhile, and really missed this business. Went by today to get backing fabric for a quilt and neither Chris nor Mike were available; not sure who the person was behind the counter but she wasn't trying to be helpful at all! I feel so disappointed because this has never been my experience with this business. I really needed help picking a backing fabric, but she wouldn't even leave the counter area, just stood there, offered no assistance. I will be back, because I just love business

I love this store and staff! I'm shocked at the negative comments. I have never had a bad experience! I am a newer quilter and I have taken many classes and learned so much in the past two years Since I've found this store. My husband bought my machine there last year and Michael helped us both pick out a machine that would work best for what I wanted to do. All the staff is helpful both in store and over the phone. This is the friendliest service we've ever had!!! I brought in two machine on Christmas Eve and they were ready 4 days later. A cleaning is only $89, and I've paid $110 other places (and have had to wait two weeks). Albert was extremely friendly and welcoming.
I did not take a class, just received repair services so I cannot comment on the classes other than they have a huge schedule full of fun looking stuff!

This place is awesome!! The staff was so helpful. I was making a Mothers day project and came in every day for a week to draw from their knowledge and support. The entire staff went above and beyond to assist me. I am a true beginner and they were all extremely patient. I can't say enough about how helpful everyone was. I plan to take some of their courses as soon as I can!

They have a lovely selection of fabric and other goods, but we were very disappointed in the class my daughter took. Communication was very poor (non-existent) about schedule, what to bring, etc. We had been told twice they would get to choose their own fabric for the class, and instead they did not, and we were not even told of the change at the drop-off. It's unfortunate to pay $35 for a class when she won't use the end project because she doesn't like the fabric.
We paid for 4 hours of instruction (12-5) and instead the kids were done at 4, and parents were called to come rush

This store is a true superstar in the sewing world! And a fabulous addition to the DFW market. The staff goes out of their way to be sure you are well cared for and leave the store happy. And they are very knowledgeable all around. If you are in the market for a sewing machine, fabric, or classes to increase your skills, this should be your first stop. You will be happy you too found this gem of a shop!
