Although acid reflux is extremely common and rarely serious, don't ignore your acid reflux symptoms. Making a few lifestyle changes and using over-the-counter antacids are usually all you need to control acid reflux symptoms.
Colonoscopy is an outpatient procedure during which your large bowel (colon and rectum) is examined from the inside. Colonoscopies are usually used to evaluate symptoms like abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, or changes in bowel habits. They are also used to screen for colorectal cancer. Flexible sigmoidoscopy is a routine outpatient procedure in which the inner lining of the lower large intestine, called the sigmoid colon, is examined.

Outstanding experience. Dr. C is excellent as is every one of his staff. My wife was kept up-to-date during the entire procedure. Instructions for the prep and before, during and after the procedure were clear and easy to understand. I would give it my highest rating and will certainly return if the need arises. The facility is modern and tastefully decorated.

Dr. C and staff are great! Customer service and patient satisfaction appears to be their goal! The front desk staff were courteous. All the staff were competent, friendly, and helpful. They thoroughly explained all aspects of my colonoscopy, answered all my questions and made me feel completely at ease. Most importantly, Dr. C. performed the procedure expertly! After the procedure I felt fine with no after effects. They even called to check on me the next day. When I am need of a gastrointestinal professional, I will always seek out Dr. C and the staff and Gastrointestinal Healthcare.

Dr. C and the entire staff at GI Healthcare are amazing! They make you feel so comfortable and respected. Dr. C takes the time to listen to you and no one rushes you out the door like in most doctors offices. You are greeted with a smile and a warm, friendly hello. Dr. "C" as he is known is a rare example of a CARING GI doctor . A few years ago I was ill and losing weight precipitously . It hurt to even drink water . I went to several esteemed GI docs in Raleigh and was turned away because of my extensive list of other medical problems . If they could not do a quick colonoscopy to diagnose the problem they were NOT interested ( I had already had a Colonoscopy at UNC with no answer as to the cause of my issue ) . Finally a GI doc at Wake Forest Medical school suggested the answer ---but he rec. a diagnostic test that had a three month waiting list

From the staff at the front door, the nurses checking you in and caring for you during procedures and of course Dr C, I had an amazing experience. Everyone is so caring. Making sure I was comfortable and that my experience was the best possible. Would I recommend Dr C and his staff? ABSOLUTELY!! Without a doubt.

Dr C. and his staff are very professional and caring. Both my husband and I recently were treated by Dr C. and his gentle mannerism made me feel comfortable discussing sensitive manners with him. He began with the least invasive treatment, it is has been very successful. I appreciate not going through tests or procedures.
The facility is clean, and while on a par with a hospital outpatient facility, it made us feel less stressful (having had similar procedures in hospitals). A great all around experience.

A few days after moving here last year, I had an appointment with Dr. C. I knew nobody in the area really but the very first visit here felt so comfortable I almost forgot I was seeing a GI doctor.
The office itself is very inviting and feels cozy. The front staff is very helpful, friendly and works quickly to get the administrative work done properly to get you seen as soon as possible. The nursing staff was also great, especially Tamara who was both kind and funny. She helped make would might be an uncomfortable visit feel like a chat with a family member.
