We would like to thank the State Treasurer for working with hospitals on the State Employee Healthplan to ensure all North Carolinians - including teachers, state employees, and retirees - have access to healthcare and the providers they trust.

Association Health Plans (AHPs) are "large group" plans that allow small businesses, farmers, doctors, restaurants, real estate brokers, and many more independent contractors to come together based on location or industry for their healthcare coverage.Currently, a significant amount of North Carolina families are unable to afford their monthly premiums, co-pays and deductibles - leaving them without coverage.

Partners for Innovation in Health Care is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization founded to be a common-sense pragmatic voice for our state's health care delivery system and supports affordable care, positive outcomes and encourages innovation. PIHC will provide community outreach and will educate citizens, elected officials and policy makers on the issues that impact our health care delivery system.
Your healthcare access is under attack. The State Treasurer has proposed a shortsighted new model for the State Health Plan, which will cut payments for services at local doctors' offices, hospitals, and health systems, forcing them to cut important services and jobs. This will place an undue burden on teachers, state employees, and retirees by limiting access to the care providers they know and trust.
We are committed to working with Members of Congress, Senators and our State Legislators as policy makers to build the next generation of health care public policy that will provide a better system for patients and consumers while maintaining stability in the delivery system as well as our health insurance markets.
You may reach out to us via mail at Partners for Innovation in Health Care (PIHC), PO Box 4449, Cary, North Carolina, 27519 or via telephone at 919-210-3829. Value-based care models are working in North Carolina right now. 5 major health systems in our state have already moved their payment system from fee-for-service to value-based care.
Partners for Innovation in Health Care has set a goal to raise $2.5 million with an ongoing goal to raise $2.0 million per year to allow us to execute our mission. PIHC will be governed by a Board of Directors who will have authority over the activities of the organization and will oversee daily operations and functions of the committee.
