I bought 2 used jet skis from a friend. I knew they had been sitting for 2 1/2 years and would need a little maintenance before taking them on the water. I found a local mechanic who I thought I could trust and he tells me one of the 2 is only worth maybe $200 at best because it needed a motor and had major electrical issues. I went and picked them up and after some research I found Brian. Took them to him on Monday and picked them up on Friday. As I thought they did not need a motor just some general maintenance, carb cleaning and new fuel lines. He was very honest affordable and did not try to

I have used Brian as my Seadoo mechanic for several years even before he expanded and opened Champion Powersports. He is honest, reasonable, and knowledgeable. He has always worked within my budget, whether I was just having my PWC's serviced or looking for more performance modifications. He is a national champion racer that builds his own race PWC's so obviously he knows what he is doing. I have referred many friends from Lake James area and always had good feedback. I just wish he would open a shop in my area!.

We've been taking our jetboat to Brian for 3 years and are very happy with the service we receive. He is honest, his prices are fair, and he has always been able to get us back in the water quickly. It feels good to have a go-to guy when you have a boat or an ATV. I'd recommend Brian to anyone. Love the new location, too! Very secure lot.

Incompetent and/or Negligent
I took my jet ski in for a fuel related problem. Brian did $400 of work and told me it was fixed. When I got back home and rode it, it had the same exact problem - nothing had changed. When questioned, Bryan admitted he never took it for a test ride before working on it to see what was wrong and he didn't test it out after he worked on it to validate it was indeed fixed.
At home I completely drained the tank, put in new gas and added carb/fuel cleaners. While trying testing my fix I discovered the starter button that worked when I took it to him was now broken.
Reluctantly

It is rare to find someone as passionate about repairing jet skis as Brian Baldwin. I bring all my PWC's here for service and repairs. I have some "old school" skis like Kawasaki X-2's and a Yamaha Waveblaster as well as some 3 seaters and he has no problem fixing any of them. I would recommend him to everyone around Lake Norman.
