These guys are clearly the best at what they do. Mr. Olden is a legend around these parts and for good reason. He has been lighting for over 40 years and his experience and talents have landed him Austin City Limits for the last ten years.
The service was spot on. I didn't need much but that didn't matter. They treated me with the utmost respect.
They have everything ranging from grip trucks, Arri lighting, theatrical lighting and basically everything in between those worlds. Legit rental house.

I came in looking for a small assorted pack of lighting gels, with the intention of using them on a flashlight for light painting photography.
I walked in a few minutes to close, and nobody really was phased by that. The lady at the front desk pleasantly asked what she could help with, and I told her what I was looking for and why. They're problem solvers here, and even though they didn't really have any small assorted packs of gels, they had some gels in the form of sales sample material that they just let me have with my purchase of some gaffer tape. They did so happily.

Olden has come through for me in a pinch several times. I've bitten off more than I could chew more than once and Walter and his crew have managed to make sure I had all the gear I needed, any training that was required and treated me fairly on price. They even got a piece of my rig to me after hours when I realized I had forgotten to order one part. I highly recommend these guys for any of your lighting needs, whether purchases or rentals.

So I called Olden in a semi-panic Friday at 4pm for some crazy gobo lighting system. They knew more than I did (not surprising in this instance), were totally efficient and aware and even gave me a setup lesson and an extra light.
These folks are the place to go for your lighting needs. They're also totally convenient and out of traffic as well as being a hop skip and a jump away from vivo, el chilito and any number of east side eateries. So pick up your apparatus, get the instruction and then have a margarita to forget it all.
