Laura is a licensed acupuncturist and herbal therapist with over 17 yrs experience in healthcare. She is a graduate from Smith College in Northampton, MA and received her Masters in Oriental Medicine from AOMA in Austin, TX. Laura worked for the American Cancer Society for 7 yrs.
Through her work, Laura became painfully aware of the numerous patients who fall through the cracks either because of lack of coverage, lack of commitment from the health care team or lack of resources in the patient's community. In 2002, Laura enrolled in school for Traditional Chinese Medicine to become a practitioner, so that she could be part of changing the landscape of healthcare in the U.S.

This is the greatest place I have ever been to. Each practitioner has their own style but this is Truly an Austin example of helping people and being rewarded for your good deeds. I could not continue with treatments elsewhere because both my husband and myself lost our jobs. I am so grateful for NAP and how it has helped me stay off of medications that the western doctors had me hooked on for years.

NAP is an amazing neighborhood staple! I had zero experience with or knowledge about acupuncture but decided to give it a try when an issue arose. I really lucked out to snag an appointment with Pam. She is so calming, skilled, and attentive. Pam took the time to explain the process and underlying beliefs which helped put me at ease. I usually avoid needles at all costs but I haven't felt anything beyond momentary discomfort. I have seen significant improvement and will continue to visit!

In addition to her skills as as an acupuncturist, she is patient, understanding and really listens to her patients Cindy always gives good vibes and is very calming and kind... she's awesome! She deserves more than a 5 star rating! I recommend Cindy and this clinic for your acupuncture treatments!

This place is kind of amazing. It's like stepping back into the early days of holistic medicine, back before pretense and corporatism. I grew up in the outskirts of Houston (back when the outskirts were rural)... in that community, people were kind and passionate and deeply committed to naturalism. The staff at NAP very much remind me of that community, for which I'm incredibly nostalgic. I was treated with love and kindness from the moment I walked in. Cindy was beyond caring - talked with me for 30 minutes about my ailments, gave me medicinal recommendations, and was very caring of

For acupuncture, you couldn't ask for a more wonderful, kind and knowledgeable person then Cindy. She's supportive and helpful and literally helped me be able to walk "normally" again, as well as addressing other concerns and health issues.
For massage, there's not a more loving and kind person than Rydia. Her massages are so relaxing. I'd alway shad deep tissue and didn't think that her more "relaxing" massages would help me, but they have literally been life changing.
Pretty much everyone at NAP is kind and caring and so genuine.

This place is the best in care, affordability, and giving your heart and spirit peace. I love Laura and her dedication to her clients. I came here first for balance following the loss of an unborn child. My body and spirit needed alignment. She took time to listen and helped me navigate. I began coming again during my next pregnancy to manage feeling ill and my anxiety. I was doing acupuncture up until the week my daughter arrived. My OB was also convinced she would not turn into position and Laura helped--even accurately approximating when it would happen. I cannot express enough love and gratitude

These are the greatest acupuncturists in Austin. They have helped me thru cancer, two broken backs, two knee replacements, what more can I say. I am 74 and have been a customer since 2010. I love All if the acupuncturists that work here. The depth of knowledge and time spent with each customer amazing. I know you will not be disappointed.

I've been going to NAP for about 2 months now on a weekly basis and I love it so much, and is now a part of my basic upkeep. I will not divulge the reason why I come here, but acupuncture has helped me so much. Acupuncture is used for many different medical issues, so you might find it helpful as well. This place is so reasonably priced, that it is worth a try for people who are looking for treatment alternatives. The initial consultation is the priciest and the regular sessions are significantly cheaper. Their services are on a sliding scale, in order to accommodate people of all types of

I went here hoping for some relief from terrible pregnancy nausea. NAP did not disappoint. I saw Joanne and she was great. She took the time to listen to my symptoms and gave me an explanation of what she was doing as she placed her needles. I dozed off during the 45 minute session and awoke feeling less nauseous than when I came in. Looking forward to returning.

I've been a patient of Joanne's for a couple of years, and I have never felt more relaxed than after a treatment. She is patient and benevolent -- these are sometimes a lot more like therapy sessions. There is zero pressure to purchase anything or make future appointments, but I do recommend making a future appointment in-person if you know your schedule. If you are a Type A person like me, it's helpful because they don't always have a volunteer answering the phones.
I try to pay the most I can for the sessions because I know that even their highest end is a great deal in

This is one of my favorite places on earth. I came in to see Cindy several years ago when I was hitting rock bottom with a number of issues in my life, and suffering from high anxiety and insomnia. What I found was kindness, peace, and instant relaxation. This place truly changed and helped me rebalance my life. Cindy has a kind, attentive, and warm spirit, and I always look forward to seeing her. I became a devoted acupuncture client because of this place, and although I've since moved away from Austin I make a point of going in and seeing her everytime I visit Austin because it is truly

I'm titling my review, "Touched By An Angel,"
Cindy has been giving me acupuncture treatments for the past month. I've been recovering from a severe bout of pneumonia and her kindness, concern and healing hands have helped restore my fragile mental state and body. The quality of care, the serene atmosphere and friendly staff make the $20 visit the best bargain in town!

Just to add to my previous review. I've continued to have a fantastic experience with NAP. And while I'm not 100% cured yet, their treatment is supplemental to other things I'm doing, and the atmosphere gives me a great place to relax and meditate once a week. Tony is very knowledgeable and great at listening and tweaking his treatment to help meet your needs.
I would definitely recommend to anyone seeking acupuncture treatment in Austin. A+

My wife has had severe pain from a pinched nerve from a herniated disc. She's tried countless prescription medications, none of which provided any relief, and only served to make her tired. We've got an appointment with a physical medicine doctor, but the process of going to one doctor and getting tests and then getting referred to another doctor and then waiting until they have an availability is slow. When my wife went to bed crying from the pain the other night, I decided to see if there was something else we could try while waiting for our next doctor appointment, so I remembered

Have to add to my previous review. My husband is one of the most skeptical and analytic people you will ever know.
He doesn't believe anything that he can't see with his own eyes. I'm saying this, to paint a picture of a person who probably wouldn't believe in acupuncture. He went reluctantly at first, and is a sworn a believer now. He goes every single Monday without fail just because he finds so much relief in the treatments. He has all but cured of his allergies and is living pain free without medication.

NAP has been great... and Laura is wonderful! Make sure you read about it before you go so that you're not surprised when you're in a room with other people. They're able to keep their prices very reasonable because of the "community" setting. I've always felt quite comfortable there... everyone (acupuncturists and fellow clients) is very respectful of the open space, keeping it quiet and peaceful.
