Rocky Mountain Ballet Academy follows a classical ballet curriculum modeled after the Vaganova Ballet Academy in Russia. We believe that offering the rich and historic tradition of the Vaganova style gives our students technical mastery and artistic excellence. Rocky Mountain Ballet Academy was founded in 2017 by Alexei Tyukov and Maria Tyukova.
We are proud to be regarded as Denver's premier classical ballet training school. RMBA takes great pride in directing each of our students on an individual path towards excellence, with an emphasis on superior technique, artistry and stage presence. RMBA is committed to small class sizes for optimal personalized attention and instruction.

In 2020, Rocky Mountain Ballet Academy expanded its commitment to provide the best pre-professional training by inaugurating a day program for advanced dance students in Colorado. With extended afternoon hours, the goal of RMBA's Conservatory Day Program is to provide committed dancers with superior technical training and diverse artistic education that prepares them for competitions and professional careers.
This well-rounded program, taught by experts in their fields, provides dedicated dancers with a complete and immersive schedule of conservatory training.
With a focus on cultivating dancer's artistic expansion, the program offers a music theory course in ear training for the body, acting to deepen their character development and physicality, a composition class to explore movement and learn individual choreographic expression, dance history, and variations and repertoire courses.

Rocky Mountain Ballet Academy's Pre-Professional Program offers a comprehensive dance education for those seeking Russian Vaganova ballet training. For those in our higher levels, classes in pas de deux, character, contemporary and modern are also an important part of the training.
Rocky Mountain Ballet Academy emphasizes the classical ballet technique based upon the Russian tradition of training called the Vaganova Method; this method has produced many of the world's finest dancers. Originally developed by Mme.
Agrippina Vaganova over one hundred years ago, the Vaganova method marries the romantic style of the French ballet and dramatic soulfulness of the Russian character with the athletic virtuosity that characterizes the Italian school to reform the old imperial style of ballet teaching. The aim of the method is the complete coordination of the entire body in order to achieve artistic dancing.

As a mother to a son who is in his 4th year of professional/pre-professional ballet training, Rocky Mountain Ballet is, hands down, the best studio in the state for him. We live in Colorado Springs, but happily commute an hour each way, every day, so that our son can be trained by the best. They have beautiful, clean studios and ample parking and the communication between the staff, students and parents is superior. Most importantly, the small-class instruction is highly professional, well rounded and rigorous - I am confident that my son is getting the training he needs for a successful career

Where do I start? RMBA has the most professional, talented and experienced teachers who truly care about professional development of their students. They are probably one of the very few Vaganova schools in the US, offering rigorous pre-professional program with many performance and competition opportunities, and even summer intensives in Russia. For my daughter, RMBA became so much more than a dance school. She thrives there. Seriously, it's the best.

My daughter is continually coming home and reporting that her technique and strength are improving dramatically. The teachers here are masters of ballet and have a passion for passing on their love and knowledge. Their training and past professional careers have provided many opportunities for our daughter that we never imagined possible (including learning Russian during the year and training in Russia during the summer). After training for hours each week, she still gets disappointed when class is over. The jazz and modern teacher is skilled, fun, and encouraging. She seems to know when to push
