The cost of exterior bentonite waterproofing for wet basements is usually a pleasant surprise for most homeowners. In addition to the cost being lower than an interior drain tile system with a sump pump, bentonite waterproofing can be done in smaller areas just where the basement is wet.

With interior drain tile systems, it's more cost efficient to do the entire basement, Bentonite Hydroclay waterproofing can be done along walls or corners making Bentonite Hydroclay usually the least costly option for wet basements. For over 34 years Great Lakes Waterproofing has been waterproofing the Midwest.
The first step in basement construction starts with the contractor excavating dirt, clay and rock to make room for the footing and foundation walls and finishing off with the basement floor. The footing is a strip of concrete usually around 12" x 24" (this varies by local code and age of the home) that is poured around the perimeter of the house or building.
Great Lakes Waterproofing has provided foundation waterproofing solutions for over 30 years including exterior waterproofing for new and existing homes and business. For existing homes we use our exclusive hydroclay pumping and injection equipment to waterproof your basement. With little or no digging we waterproof the foundation from the outside.
The need for foundation repair can come about from a variety of reasons but are most commonly caused by movement of the foundation. Cracks at the intersection of walls and ceilings, and at the intersection of wall surfaces. All of the above symptoms could be a sign of settlement or differential movement.
Great Lakes Waterproofing installs the three major below-grade waterproofing systems, Drain-Tile, Cove and Bentonite Exterior Hydroclay Injections. While Drain-Tile and Cove systems are universally known, Bentonite Hydroclay is limited to contractors that have taken time for instruction on it's properties and installation.
