Seattle based Tirto Furniture is a family business, locally owned and located in the NE side of the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Our family has been making furniture for decades and we pride ourselves on improving homes with solid wood furniture. Tirto Furniture truly is a family business. Chris' love for furniture started young, as he grew up surrounded by his father, James Tirtoprodjo's, Indonesian antique collection.
As business owners, our goal is to remain true to our heritage by demonstrating loyalty in all areas of our work. We are inspired by the antiques in our family's private collection, featured in the book Antique Furniture and Folk Art, created by Indonesian craftspeople centuries ago. We seek to blend traditional and contemporary styles in the design of our furniture.

Services
We create contemporary, sustainable furniture that blends traditional Indonesian sensibility with modern influences. All of our furniture is made at our family's workshop in East Java, Indonesia, where we have been designing furniture for decades. We receive new furniture ever couple of months, so follow us on Instagram to see new designs or pop into the store for a wander if you live in Seattle.
We receive new shipments of handcrafted teak furniture every two months or so which have different styles and designs. We receive handmade teak furniture made from refurbished wood direct from our family's workshop on a regular basis. We typically have a few dining tables, coffee tables, side tables along with new designs and home furnishings.
Our tables are all handmade in our family's workshop, primarily from refurbished teak wood. We believe our solid teak tables only improve over time. Tirto tables come in a variety of sizes, finishes, and all can be customized. Tirto Furniture produces contemporary, sustainable furniture that blends traditional Indonesian sensibility with modern influences.
We have many designs of bookshelves from modern to classic, as well as buffet cabinets with space for your record collection, or liquor storage. GREAT FURNITURE STORE!
I needed some dining chairs to match some teak chairs that I had purchased from David Smith (COOL furniture store on Queen Anne, now closed), so I took in one of the chairs to Tirto. They did not have the exact chair, but they said they could make some to match. It took a while, because they are made in their workshop in Indonesia, but when they arrived they were perfect! Great communication, customer service and value! I will be going back when I need a new coffee table (after the grandchildren have finished destroying my current one!)

Good price for the quality. Great customer service too, I bought a beautiful dining table there and put beewax over it to protect the wood. The beewax brought out the natural colour of the wood, hence, half of my table looked darker than the other half. Chris (the owner) offered to make another table for me at their Indonesian workshop and shipped it here for exchange. Will be going back for more furniture!

A wonderful collection of well designed, hand made, solid wood, furniture. We purchased a beautiful dining room table crafted from salvaged teak that is a family favorite, and have enjoyed their durable teak deck furniture for years. The owner Chris Tirtoprodjo is knowledgeable, easy to work with and can provide custom pieces, communicating directly with the craftspeople that fabricate the furniture.

Fav furniture store in Seattle.
Got a big dinner / work table and chairs here so far.
Their stuff completely DESTROYS what you might find at West Elm, Retro-Fit, etc.... dont even think about Ikea.
You want big solid wooden pieces that will last a lifetime. You need to go shop Tirto.
Gonna go back next month for some cabinets.
Its family owned handcrafted stuff. No kits, lame scandanavian pack or self assemble.
They have great delivery partners too. Got my stuff next day set-up just the way I wanted it.
Anything else I buy in this city will come from this shop.

My partner just bought his first house. We've only been there a couple of months, so we're still missing some furniture. We've been using folding chairs with our nice new rustic-style Montana Table and that just didn't sit right with us, plus my partner needs a new desk for his home office. We looked at Tirto's pictures and knew we had to take a look.
Tirto offers really beautiful, unique, well-made furniture for lower than average fancy furniture prices. It's no IKEA, but it's less expensive than, say, West Elm, and less cookie cutter. Tirto also seems to strive
