As you age your lens cannot keep up with your vision. The first thing you experience with an aging or dysfunctional lens is the loss of accommodation or near vision. This results in the annoying reading glasses or bifocals. As you get older this gets worse and even the clarity of vision decreases (cataract formation).
The lens of the eye allows light to be focused on the retina in order to have good vision. As we age the lens becomes cloudy and, similar to having smudges on your glasses, the image gets blurry. When this occurs the cloudy lens is called a cataract. This can affect your daily activities such as driving or reading.

I cannot even express how wonderful my experience was with Dr. Ashraf and his entire team! From the initial consultation to the procedure, everyone was so nice and accommodating! I would even go as far as say the experience was FUN (fun surgery- what a crazy thing to say!) I would only recommend getting LASIK or SMILE with this amazing group of people!
