Janet learned at an early age the importance of loving you are, doing what you love, and following your dreams. As a young girl, Janet experimented with color, fashion, hair, makeup and loved seeing how quickly one transformed. Janet was certain this was the career she wanted to pursue. In early 2000, Janet began her professional career by training at the Vidal Sassoon Academy.
Janet Miranda has been my primary hairstylist and make-up artist on set for the Armani Exchange photo shoots. Her passion for the transformative power of make-up and her professional attitude help me to acheive the look I want our brand to portray. She is able to create a flawless natural look with a flair that's modern and chic.
The foundation is a fine mist that is dispersed through an airbrush gun that is powered by a compressor. If done properly, it should look natural and flawless! Airbrush makeup can look heavier, which is more of a lack of control. When done right, airbrush makeup should have a flawless, semi-matte finish.

Janet is such a sweetheart and so wonderful to work with! It was a relief to find a hair and makeup artist that understood my style and aesthetic. I love that she was able to create such a natural effortless look for my wedding day. On the day of the wedding, her calm vibe kept me sane and she made me look amazing! All my bridesmaids loved their hair and makeup as well and were amazed at how affordable her services were for the quality. I'm just sad that I don't have an excuse to have my hair and makeup done by Janet more often.

I absolutely love Be.NYLA's look! They are a group of such talented hair and makeup artists. Janet, the owner, is such a sweetheart! And she is so amazingly great at her art. Janet and Paige did my makeup and hair for my bridesmaid's and I on my wedding day.
They did such an incredible job every girl was so happy with their results.
Janet also squeezed in my mom and little cousin last minute and made sure everyone was done on time when they needed to be. Janet kept me calm and collected during the whole process and I never felt more beautiful than on my wedding day. I highly recommend them for any event.

Never looked more beautiful than on my wedding day thanks to Janet! I was referred to her from a friend. She spent a lot of time with me during my trial and totally translated my direction. From the start, it was easy communicating with her via email as she was prompt and flexible in scheduling. (I was lucky enough to be able to book my bridal trial as the same day as my engagement shoot!)
At the bridal trial, I wasn't in front of the mirror as she was applying makeup, but I loved the look when she revealed it! I don't usually wear much makeup, but I felt the look she created enhanced my features and didn't transform me into someone else my fiancé didn't recognize. It wasn't too cakey or heavy, but was enough to look great in photos

If you are looking for a bridal hair/makeup stylist, look no further. I found Janet on Yelp and I am so happy/glad/fortunate that I did. Right from the beginning, she was professional, kind, and responsive. As soon as I contacted her, we setup my trial. The one request my fiancé made about the wedding day was that he wanted me to look like me, not some done up person he couldn't recognize. I hired Janet for my wedding and she was great. I would highly recommend her! She has a really cool studio and is just really easy to be around. During my trial, it was determined that my hair was too long for the style i wanted. She told me to come back 3 weeks before the wedding and she would cut my hair and complete the trial so I could see what the back would look like. And even now, I still love the hair cut she gave me and I will be going back soon for a trim. She's not cheap but you get what you pay for so expect to not be disappointed.

I am testifying that Janet made my fiance so beautiful for our engagement photo shoot. As I dude, I don't know much about makeup, but all I know that she did an awesome job to make our photoshoot a memorable one. Our shoot was at 11:00 am and she was in her salon by 7:30 am ready to go. That's very impressive.
Her studio is so cool. It is quaint and nice. She pops a good tune in the back and for us guys, her couch is quite comfortable.

Call me crazy, but I needed someone to do my hair and makeup 12 days before my BFF's wedding. I was calling friends of friends who do this sort of thing... no luck! I usually hate getting my makeup done by other professionals because I end up looking like a drag queen. They tend to overdo certain features or give me looks that are so... NO.
Janet from Be.NYLA is the only makeup artist I've found that I can trust with my face. She makes me look like me, just ten times better.
I overdid my partying right before New Year's Eve and was concerned about appearing tired and worn out in pictures. She worked her magic with her brush, and not only did I look alive, but glowing and youthful as well.

It's as if you've stepped into a loft in NY, but you're in the heart of downtown LA. Instead of feeling like you are in the typical, sterile, hair salon, the ambience is inviting, warm, and modern.
I came in to Diane with the request of an ombre. After looking at my hair, she suggested I do a sombre (softer ombre) because of my hair texture. When a hairstylist could advise you on what to do with your hair if your own suggestion is bad, I think that is admirable and shows great skill. Typically, I think some hair stylists are scared of going against their client's wishes, but

I can't say how relieved I am to have found a great team of people to trust with my destination wedding hair/makeup! Three reasons why they get 5 stars:
1) Diane did my hair/makeup trial and I could not be any happier with the results. I brought in a few pictures for my trial and thanks to her creativity, the end result was better than what I initially imagined!
2) I went back for a haircut/color a few weeks later and was so happy with my layers that I purposely didn't wash my hair that night so I could wear it the way she styled it for work the next day. Lol (Got a ton of compliments

Working with Be.NYLA was such a great experience. As a photographer, you want your clients to look at their best and feel comfortable during the entire shoot and Be.NYLA helped me to make that happen. They are professionals that have natural eyes to details.
