One of our favorite things about Crab Shell is our outdoor dockside bar and patio, "The Shack". We offer Live Music all summer long. The Shack opens in Spring when the weather warms and keep it open as long as we can - typically into late October! At the The Shack, we serve from our Crab Shell Lunch menu during the day, and our The Shack menu at night.
Crab Shell is dedicated to ensuring the health and safety of both our guests and our employees. In compliance with all Connecticut regulations and CDC guidelines, we have modified our table layout to operate at 50% reduced capacity indoors, ensure a minimum of 6ft table spacing, and restrict large parties to a maximum of 8 persons per table.

Had very friendly and attentive service. Food was tasty. Only complaint was that they serve oysters with a Small wood fork/splint. It is not an effective tool and one oyster was lost. I will simply ask for proper fork next time.

Meh, what can I say about this place. It probably does well just because of location. They had a Miami Vice blended drink on the menu, but bartender was too lazy cause they only have one blender- which is odd cause I made them all the time as a bartender using just one blender. Then they didn't have the mojito that was on their (paper) menu. So really these could be removed. The food tasted good, but the presentation was boring and low skilled. The crab chowder didn't have any crab in it and no noticable potatoes. The lobster bisque was great. The Crab Shell dish was good. The broccoli was still

The staff is very pleasant and extra kind if they remember you. The CT style lobster roll is simply the best I've ever had. Can't give 5 stars because I have the same meal every time: Oysters, Lobster roll and Guinness. I can't really speak to the rest of the menu but this meal is a favorite that never disappoints.

Mid day waited over an hour for food to come out. Lots of empty tables, so not totally packed. After an hour of waiting food came out. Lobster roll had flies all over it. Vegetables and Philly cheesesteak all stunk of seafood. When trying to get the check quickly was greeted back with "I'm in a rush too". First and last time there.

Crab Shell has that laid back, shorts and a t-shirt atmosphere on the outside with a comparable laid back inside. I've been here twice in the past several years and nothing much has changed with the exception of the prices.
I was in the mood for Soft Shell Crabs, but was told it was only one crab @ $18.00. I didn't think it was worth it for one crab at that price, so opted for my Clam Bellies instead. More yummy bites for the buck

It was a beautiful day. Waiter was very nice view and atmosphere were great! Ordered the seafood salad ($29) lettuce two clams three mussels and about three shrimp. New England clam chowder was great! Had the grouper franchise with shrimp and capers is how it was advertised! It arrived with two baby shrimp and one half of a baby shrimp. The shrimp were not even cleaned. When I asked the waiter him and the manager stated it was just a garnish! I ordered it because it stated with shrimp. Which led me to believe I would be getting shrimp. While the grouper was good it was not what was expected. The

Came here for lunch and should have asked for a different seat a little closer to the water. The food was good but the portion size could have been better. Oysters were fantastic! View is amazing and feels like vacation. I am probably the only one to complain there is too much alcohol in their drinks, but for me when I order a cocktail I want to have some flavor and not just the taste of the liquor. Overall, I enjoyed coming here and I would definitely come back.

This is a great spot with prime view of the marina. Food, however was average. I ordered lobster bisque and sautéed soft shell crab on a roll with sweet potato fries. The lobster bisque was lukewarm when it arrived at the table. It was too thick, though not gloppy. It didn’t have a lot of flavor. The soft shell crab was a decent size, but not for the price they charged ($18). There should have been 1.5 crabs at least or charge me $24 and give me two. I think that would have been fair. 1.5 of my stars go to the location and vibe of the surroundings.

Not even a little bit good. We came here for lunch and they were out of lobster. It was noon and lobster was all over their "today's special" board so that should have been a red flag since it opened at 11:30. We ordered soup as appetizers and they never came. Then when we asked for them they came out cold. They didn't have the salad I wanted from the menu. Our waitress could have cared less about us and took ages to bring us drinks, and yet they weren't busy and had empty tables everywhere. Also, the bathrooms were DISGUSTING. I don't get how they were trashed

Decided to try this place out for Mother's Day brunch. Service was excellent and location is beautiful on the marina. Issue was the food unfortunately or I would have given 4 stars. The fish I ordered was fresh but plain not much flavor to the dish. I will say their calamari was excellent, light batter and so fresh. My mother loved her meal so that what matter most. I would come back here for drinks by the water and some appetizers, just nothing too exciting available as far as the main dishes here.

Stopped by here for lunch and the food was really good. We decided to sit outside and it was a bit breezy but not unbearable. In spite of children running back and forward while their parents continue to dine without telling their children to stop running it was still a decent experience. The food was a nice portion for lunch and the beer was ice cold. I wish I would have known that they had a full bar because I needed something strong to deal with the children running back and forward. I will definitely go back but for dinner.

Just went there with my girlfriend today for our one year anniversary and I have a whole lot to say. First I’ll start off by saying the wine we received was not even in proper glasses but in a plastic cup. Yet a couple of women near us did receive glasses. So much for romantic.. Then we ordered the Cajun shrimp and off the first bite I knew it was frozen food. 100% the shrimp was frozen nothing about it was delicious. The audacity to charge close to $20 is just absurd how dare you. Then the 2 meals we got which was a lobster roll and some seafood meal which both were not edible at all. Pure salt

Open for dining. The Crab Shell is a great place to get out of the house, breathe some fresh air while watching boats move in and out of the inlet. CT has started to open and we made a run for it over MDW. The weather was perfect. The social distancing was being honored and the staff was excellent. For the four of us the food was on point. From the fish tacos to the crab cake and the best was the warm seafood salad. Next time and maybe every time I'm ordering the warm seafood salad. Now you maybe disappointed because it is actually hard to find any greens in the salad, they are hidden by all
