Lick Wilmerding High School
Founded in 1895, Lick-Wilmerding High School stands apart as a profoundly unique educational institution. On our website you will learn more about the dynamic and challenging academic program, the way we weave innovation into the curriculum through the study of the technical arts, the opportunities students have to explore their emotional and physical selves through visual arts, performing arts and athletics, and how we ask students to engage with the world in order to enact positive change.

What may be a bit less visible are the relationships embedded in the fabric of the school that supports these many endeavors of our students. At LWHS, students forge lifelong friendships with their peers, with faculty, with the subjects they study, and with those individuals who need their talents and compassion in order to realize their full potential.
Services
A private school with a public purpose, LWHS is founded upon a legacy of serving, and being enriched by, students from all walks of life. The school furthers this purpose by producing graduates with the capacity, confidence, compassion and commitment to change the world.

The LWHS curriculum is both a catalyst and a vehicle for civic engagement, offering real world insights and inspiring students to contribute their time, talent, and treasure to work that matters. The larger community-local and global-is an extension of LWHS classrooms, providing students opportunities for thoughtful and effective problem solving and stewardship.
A Strategic Planning Committee has spent the last year listening to the Lick-Wilmerding High School community to identify the school's priorities for the next five years. The committee relied heavily on the findings from our recent accreditation self study and as well as on data about the educational landscape of the San Francisco Bay Area and the United States.
In the morning, we offer a variety of breakfast options, including fresh organic oatmeal with dried fruits and nuts, various cereals, homemade granola, fruit, bagels, toast, juices, organic yogurt, milk, coffee, hot chocolate, and tea.

The Food Service program at LWHS focuses on providing healthy, nutritional meals and snacks for 550 students and more than 100 faculty and staff in order to build community and model healthy eating habits and environmental stewardship.Cooked from scratch and made fresh daily, the Food Service team uses local and organic produce whenever possible.
The Business Office is dedicated to supporting the mission of Lick-Wilmerding High School by providing effective and efficient financial and human resource services, with integrity, creativity, flexibility, respect, confidentiality, and professionalism. The Business Office team strives to provide friendly and personalized assistance for all the various members of the School Community and its partners.
All announcements may be submitted once and will run in the In Case You Missed It (ICYMI) until the date for the event has passed, or 3 weeks if it is not an event. The eTiger is sent to LWHS students, parents/guardians of LWHS students, faculty, staff, and trustees. The newsletter is the go-to place to find out what's happening at LWHS for the upcoming week.

My daughter is a freshman this year. I debated on the school because of the many private schools in the Bay Area, but we made the right choice! Lick is amazing!! Challenging academics, inclusive mentality and enough diversity to reflect our community (socio-economic and ethnic). The kids are challenged to step up and be future leaders and care about their community. There is a sense of independence and empowerment instilled in the kids. I cant say anything negative about the place. My kid loves it and so do I. Outstanding place to go to school... They also have a great "café" with a chef, great

Incredible school. Our son just started and absolutely loves it. The teachers, facilities, student body, and curriculum are outstanding. Very diverse and welcoming culture, lots of experience-based learning opportunities, and rigorous academics.

Lick is the high school in the state, has an amazing blend of academics, shop skills, school spirit, and "community concern"... "Head, Heart, and Hands" is one of its mottos. The other: "A Private School with a Public Purpose"..
Its students accomplish amazing things, in the arts, business, the sciences, all the while "Never Majoring" in "My Wallet First". A Google search is the proof, if you go to the pictures and "current activities"..
I am a parent of a member of the Class of 1999, and we still miss the place!.
