City Arts and Technology (CAT) is a tuition-free public charter high school dedicated to preparing students for success in college, career and life. We are located in San Francisco's Excelsior neighborhood. CAT offers students a rigorous academic experience and a small, diverse community where students are known, loved and challenged.
Our caring, skilled teachers will support your student to learn, grow and become an empowered young adult, ready for college and for all of life's adventures after high school. As I enter my sixth year at CAT, I am excited to return in the role of Principal for the next school year! Each day, I hope to provide an educational experience that helps to uplift our students, families, and community.

At City Arts & Tech High School, every school day is an opportunity to build community with our students and create rich learning experiences. Here's what a Day in the Life of a CAT student looks like:. The CAT school admin team welcomes each and every student personally through the front door, and students connect with teachers and staff.
At City Arts and Tech, we make sure our students understand that opportunities, incomes, and quality of life can improve dramatically for those who earn a college degree. That's why City Arts and Tech's requirements for graduation match California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) system eligibility requirements (A-G approved).
CAT is committed to helping students succeed in school and in life, as our commitment to the CAT community goes beyond academic success. We know that high school can be a challenging time and whatever the issue, the CAT staff is available and willing to guide you as you navigate school, family, and life.
Every spring, City Arts & Tech is buzzing with the excitement of graduation. Seniors are exhilarated and it's well deserved! Four years of education at CAT means a graduate has a solid foundation of 21st Century Leadership Skills, and is ready for success in the world that lies beyond high school. City Arts & Tech graduates are well prepared for the academic rigors that await in college.
