The desert southwest is home to a variety of pests. Many, such as ants, crickets, and earwigs, are considered by homeowners to be nuisance pests. Others, such as roaches, scorpions, and black widows, are considered more dangerous because of the threat of venomous and painful stings or bites or the potential to spread disease.
The White-throated Wood Rat, often referred to as the Packrat, is very common in the southwest desert. Far from being just a nuisance pest, packrats can be quite destructive. They can cause significant damage to automobiles, A/C units, pool equipment, and attic spaces. Additionally, packrat nests can harbor other pests such as kissing bugs, ticks, fleas, scorpions, and snakes.
Wasp nests are generally much smaller than bee hives. Wasps will aggressively defend their nest when threatened and, unlike bees, have the ability to sting multiple times. The physical differences between European honey bees and Africanized are essentially impossible to determine in the field. It is estimated that virtually all of the wild bee colonies in Arizona are Africanized bees.
Bed bugs used to be very common in the United States before World War II, but were almost completely eradicated during the 1940s and '50s. During the past decade, bed bugs have come back with a vengeance. They can be found in homes, apartments, hotels, schools, movie theaters, and in moving vans just to name a few places.

Much to my alarm and family safety - this morning I went into the kitchen and found there were BEES swarming in from outside! I went out and noticed a place under the eave of the roof line where many bees were heading inside! Called my neighbor who recommended Southwest Pest Solutions as a company her family has used and who are knowledgeable and trustworthy. I called them (520-339-2433) asap, and one of the owners - Dennis Cross answered and had me text my address - and he came right out - arriving in less than an hour. We went on a tour of my home and even up to the roof before he suited

Had Southwest Pest Control come out to our house to spray and help catch some mice we had seen in the backyard. They did an amazing job. Caught like 6 or 7 mice (that we know of) and the spray absolutely works amazing! Kind of gross, but I had a bunch of dead cockroaches in my garage after they got done spraying. Would definitely recommend them to anyone! Great service and very professional!

Mike is the best. He's very thorough, he will follow up on any previous issues (we've had rodents and termites and he double checks the signs for those critters even when he's here to spray for scorpions), he's conscious of pets and children, and you won't find a company with better customer service.

Fantastic pest control company. We were recommended to have them take care of our termite issues, and they are very professional, knowledgeable and priced very reasonably. On two occasions, Dennis came out to our house to help deal with kissing bug/packrat issues, and he came out the very same day that I called and treated the area(s). Amazing!
