We have been serving Houston, Texas and the surrounding areas for 65+ years. Family owned and operated, we are very proud to say. Robert Cassidy started this business in 1949 in the Medical Center of Houston. He later moved the shop to Shepard, where we continued to do business for 29 years. At which time, his daughter, Kathy Cassidy was the owner and had to move the shop to 2900 Westheimer Rd., when the building on Shepard was torn down.

I have a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses that needed the lens replaced. I decided to stop in at Cassidy Optical on my way to CVS. They were extremely friendly and helpful. They assured me that they can repair the sunglasses. I returned a few days later with my sunglasses and the replacement lens. It was replaced in a matter of seconds and looked better than ever.
I will be returning to Cassidy for all of my optical needs. Great, friendly service at a local business.

Cassidy totall saved me! I'm a boxing coach and wear special flexible glasses made by this swiss company that can take a punch and keep my eyes safe. I broke them and Gary got the part, rushed them to me, and kept the cost affordable. Wasnt a big deal to him, very big deal for me. Thank you Cassidy.

Kim and Gary are the best! I was surprised to hear this family owned business has been around since 1949 ?! So, they definitely know what they're doing. Very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Such a quality business. I stopped in because my sunglasses lost a screw and the lens popped out. Explained what happened and the super nice gentleman took the back, replaced the missing screw, tightened the rest. I asked how much and his reply was "you don't owe me anything".
It's small businesses like this that make me happy. I will forever return to this establishment for any and all of my vision needs.

I had a very good experience at this store. The staff is very knowledgable about eyewear, but more importantly their prices are fair and they are reliable. I had a bad experience with Texas State Optical where the employees kept saying they would call me back and then never followed through with me. It took them over 3 weeks to get me a simple pair of single vision prescription lenses. At RJ Cassidy, they helped me get lenses for my second set of frames in just 2 days and they cost less than half of what another optical store quoted me.
