The use of an ultrasound scan in sports medicine has grown over the past decade as ultrasound technology has advanced. Ultrasound can be used to evaluate numerous acute and chronic orthopedic injuries (partial list below). It is a painless, non-radiation imaging modality that provides instant images in the clinic or on the field.
Hyaluronic Acid Injections (HA Injections), also known as Viscosupplementation, are a nonsurgical treatment option of osteoarthritis symptoms. Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring compound that is found throughout the human body (for example, skin, eye fluid, placental fluid and joint fluid). HA normally occurs in long chains in the joint fluid providing viscosity (lubrication) to the joint.
Regenerative medicine (also known as PRP Treatments or Platelet Rich Plasma) is the utilization of the different agents to augment the bodies own healing mechanisms. This can be obtained by using material from the patient (known as an Autograft) or from material donated by another person (known as an Allograft).

I’m 62 years old and a little bit adventurous. Went Dr. Garten with consistent knee pain that would not go away. I had a snowboarding trip 30 days away. He gave me a prescription, a new knee brace and recommended some supplements. He was confident I would be good to go. Now after 10 days at Jackson Hole snowboarding pain and injury free I can confirm he was correct. He has my highest recommendation.

We visited Dr. Garten for my daughters hip pain and could not be more pleased. She is an athlete who, for months, was unable to fully recover from chronic hip pain in both her hips. We saw our primary, two PTs and a sports massage specialist before seeing Dr. Garten. He properly diagnosed and treated her pain and let her finally return to the sports she loves. There was no wait, he was beyond patient with our questions and the staff is great! Definitely would recommend!

I dealt with shoulder issues for a year and tried various treatments and rehab methods. Wasn't able to do a pushups or anything else without pain. Met with Dr. Garten, had one injection to my shoulder and I was back to lifting in the gym in two weeks. Only problem was that I didn't go to see him sooner. Highly recommended.

I was diagnosed with a 70% rotator cuff tear via MRI in December 2017 and was told that the only solution was surgery. Dr. Garten was referred to me as a MD that uses alternative therapies such as Stem Cells for Rotator cuff tears. Dr. Garten used Amnio fix in the tear and after 6 weeks it was down to a 30% tear and today 90 days later there is no visible tear via ultrasound. thank you Dr. Garten. If you are looking to alternatives to rotator Cuff surgery and live in Atlanta, I recommend you visit Dr. Garten.

Dr. Garten and his team are incredible. They are focused on one thing, getting you healthy and functioning normally. He has treated myself (back) and my son (baseball - elbow and back) and got us both healthy without surgery. Dr. Garten has an awesome orthopedic pedigree and is very professional. Could not recommend someone more than Dr. Garten.
