Sewell Shutters does not order mass-produced shutter panels from some import warehouse. Our shutters are custom built in the USA for each individual opening, color matched to the existing decor and installed with precision. They truly are the very best. Sewell's wood blinds take the best aspects of premium shutters and then goes several steps beyond.
Sewell Shutter wood blinds are hand crafted and are far superior to most machine made "faux" wood blinds. Durability and simplicity is what you can expect with Sewell Shutter wood blinds. The basswood slats and elegant Royal Crest valance come in a wide variety of painted or stained finishes. You may choose standard string ladders or charming cloth tapes that come in many different prints and colors.
The trademark of Sewell Shutters is its luxury Basswood & Poplar shutter, a gorgeous addition to any home design and one of the most eco-friendly window treatments on the market today. In the past, only two materials were used to manufacture shutters: Cedar and Sugar Pine. Sewell Shutters uses neither of those wood types because there are inherent problems with both: 1. Cedar has high resin content and stains, yellowing the finish.

Sewell Shutters has been wonderful to work with at each stage. The initial phone call was handled thoughtfully and professionally - I felt each person I dealt with was really listening to our needs. The gentleman who came out to the house was efficient and thorough: we understood all options as well as the process. His quote was lower than others and we felt it was an advantage to work with a company with such good reviews that had their own factory. Installation went smoothly and we are very pleased with the finished product and the price we paid.

Sewell shutters were installed yesterday and both my wife and I were totally blow away with the professionalism of the installers. The final products built here in their Dallas show rooms look amazing. It truly finishes out each of our rooms. They were able to match exactly with our cabinet and trim colors. Sewell Shutters is the best. 8 or 9 years ago we purchased several shutters and they did a great job at a fair price. We just repainted our house and changed the trim colors, which required us to paint the shutters. We reached out to Doug Sewell (the owner) and they did not hesitate to repaint them. Not that they look bad prior us taking them to them to be repainted, but when we got them back they look brand new, and didn't look like there was too much paint on them They looked perfect. Fair price, great quality and very responsive. They are the best!

We love our shutters! We got several estimates and Sewell shutters was the most reasonable. The shutters are guaranteed and made locally. They even matched our trim paint color and then returned the paint that was unused. Installation was under an hour for 6 windows. Love that we were able to shop local and support small business. The customer service and communication was great! We were referred by a friend, I am looking forward to referring other friends myself.!
