Like everything in society, funeral etiquette and what is expected of you has evolved over time. As always common sense and good discretion is the best guide to proper funeral etiquette. Here are a few do's and don'ts of funeral etiquette. Express your condolences - It's not easy to come up with the words to offer sympathy to someone who has just lost a loved one.
No matter if a death is sudden, or if it something that was a long time coming, the loss of a loved one makes us feel emotional and overwhelmed. No amount of preparation can fully prepare you for the loss of a loved one. When you are in a heightened emotional state, even the most basic decisions can seem staggering.
Traditionally, a burial service involves a visitation, followed by a funeral service in a church, or other place of worship. The casket is typically present at both these events, and it is your decision on whether to have the casket open or not. You have the option of having the remains interred (earth burial), or it may be entombed in a crypt inside a mausoleum (above ground burial).
Giving a meaningful, moving eulogy can be a nerve-wracking situation for even the most accomplished public speaker, but it need not be. How can you summarize somebody's life in a few short minutes, while being both somber and funny at the same time? Writing and delivering a eulogy is a therapeutic tool to help deal with your grief, and being chosen to give a eulogy is an honor and should be treated that way.

Romaine and his ENTIRE staff at R.S. Gibbs went above and beyond for my husbands Janazah Service! It’s hard enough to handle business when a loved one passes, but when that transition is sudden, accidental & totally unexpected, smh my God! The patience, the compassion, the thorough communication and the accommodating nature that was provided made accomplishing this seemingly impossible task all the more feasible.

We are more than pleased with the services recieved. R.S Gibbs was there through every part of the process. They kept us informed and assured us not to worry. They were prompt and precise. Though my aunt was emaciated at the time of her death, they filled her out and dressed her beautifully. She looked absolutely amazing. We are so grateful and recommend them without reservation.

If you are looking for a LFD that has the gift of making your final view and impression of your love one a satisfying heart warming and lasting one this is the funeral home that you and your family must make as your default choice. The polished professionalism that is render by this young man and his staff beats none in Philadelphia. Mr. Gibbs & staff definitely have made some of my family members look even better in death then they were alive due to the side effect of their illness . Both were done with love and top level effort…They made sure that all unnecessary burdens where not on your shoulders but theirs… They are available for you when you need them. My family has now ordained them as personal undertakers... I love them guys…I highly recommend them you will not be disappointed!!!
