Dr. Barnea is the owner and founder of Walk NYC Podiatry, PC established in 2009. He has been practicing both in New York and in Florida since completing his residency in 2004 from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine (a three year surgical residency program). He earned his Podiatric Medical degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.
There are a variety of reasons why you may need to see a foot doctor. The musculoskeletal system of the feet, ankles, and lower legs involve many different parts that have to work together in unison to create smooth and pain-free movement. If any of these parts are not functioning properly, the whole system can suffer!
We would like to update you on the extensive changes we have made to our office to prioritize everyone's safety. These changes exceed the recommendations by the CDC and the NY State Department of Health and enable us to care for your medical needs in a safe and clean environment. All patients are pre-screened for symptoms before arriving when appointments are confirmed.
At Walk NYC Podiatry, PC we warmly welcome new patients. We ensure a friendly experience from the moment you enter our office. We pride ourselves on running on time and thus ask our patients to respect the schedule and arrive prior to their appointment. During the first visit we make sure to obtain important information such as demographics and medical history so please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment.
Bunions are painful bone deformities in the big toe. When the toe is misaligned, the joint in the toe grows larger, creating a protuberance over time. These lumps can cause constant pain from rubbing against shoes, which in turn, irritates the joint resulting in a large bump. If treated early, bunions can be corrected.

I am 81 years old and Dr. Barnea saved my foot from critical surgery. I had pain in my left foot for months, so much that I was not able to walk. A visit at a Manhattan pain clinic did not give results, after many tests. Then I visit Dr. Barnea’s office, highly recommended by an attending MD. My first impression of the office gave me already confidence. It is so sparkling clean, one could have brain surgery on the floor. David, the receptionist is extremely knowledgeable, courteous and welcoming.

Dr. Barnea and his staff are incredible! David at the front desk did the unthinkable and got mine and my sons orthopedics covered. It was an insane miracle since no other doctor could. The office is spotless, the staff kind and welcoming, and the process seamless and easy. I would highly recommend the practice. They are honest, not trying to sell you but just to help you. A rare gem in NYC.

Dr. Barnea is by far the nicest and most professional doctor I have ever been to. He's always on time and doesn't rush through appointments. I have major doctor anxiety so he always takes his time with me and does any treatment slow and explains everything along the way. He answers any questions I have and explains care details fully. His office is immaculate and his front desk staff are just as nice and accommodating. I wish all doctors were as great as Dr. Barnea.

This is clearly a patient-centered office; both the staff and doctor are incredibly civil, friendly and knowledgeable. In my first visit I learned more about my recurring problems than I'd learned in multiple visits to my former podiatrist.
Dr, Barnea has a minimalist approach and didn't try to push me towards elaborate expensive treatment with minimal chance of success. I've worked with healthcare providers of all types as an administrator, provider and as a patient for 40+ years and this office ranks with the best.

Dr. Barnea and David are absolutely fantastic. I had a piece of broken glass stuck in my foot that urgent care was unable to remove and Dr. Barnea was able to remove it with ease and minimal pain. Both Dr Darnea and David had a calming presence that made even the most neurotic of people, such as myself, feel at ease as they treated me. I will definitely be going back for all of my future feet needs; could not recommend more.

This is one of the best doctor appointments I’ve ever experienced. David who runs the office is an expert in the field and runs the business Like a well oiled machine. No waits, efficient and Dr Barnea makes you feel special and spends ample time with you to address any concerns you may have (even for injuries you didn’t come in for in the first place!). He treated me for two toe fractures and I will be coming back in a few weeks for an ingrown toe surgery I didn’t even know existed!

If you are in need of a Podiatrist you'd be very lucky to find yourself in the very capable hands of Israeli Dr. Amnon Barnea DPM !!! He is straight forward and honest and takes the time to explain in detail what your foot issues are and the various options from the least invasive to more aggressive treatments that are available to correct whatever the issues he has diagnosed. I highly recommend Dr. Barnea. A few years back I went to him with an ankle injury and more recently with a Achilles' tendon problem. The office is spotlessly clean and they make every effort to schedule treatment for injuries ASAP. I have since sent other members of my family to him and they also are very pleased with Dr. Barnea's pleasant bedside manner.

Dr. Barnea is a true professional. I suffer of Plantar Fasciitis and before I visited Walk Podiatry, it became so acute that I began avoiding going out simply because I didn't want to be in pain anymomore. In NYC that's a big problem. Dr. Barnea began a series of treatments to help me. After a year, I am back of track and have recently began to jog again. Although the pain has not completely disappeared I now know what to do in order to treat it. Dr. Barnea and David and compassionate, approachable, knowledgeable and responsive. I highly recommend them.
