If you're looking to feel more peace around food and your body, then you've come to the right place. Hi! My name is Carolina (Carol) Guizar, and I am a Health at Every Size registered dietitian nutritionist. My goal is to help you feel less shame around eating and your body, and to support you in becoming your own Eathority: an authority on your own body and eating.

In a world full of health confusion, I will help you sort through the misinformation, eat more joyfully, and apply nutrition guidelines in ways that are gentle, non-restrictive and health-promoting-for whatever health means to you. I practice from a weight-inclusive framework to help guide you back towards your body, and away from rigid food and movement rules.

Together we will rewrite your food story as you explore and challenge old habits and thought patterns, and work towards achieving a more peaceful relationship with food and your body.
Blocking out the noise from the outside world about how you should eat and what you should look like. Intuitive eating is an alternative to a life focused on food restriction and judging your worth by your weight. It provides a gentle framework to heal your relationship with food and your body as you work to move away from dieting and restriction.
Need to find relief from debilitating IBS or SIBO symptoms? As a SIBO and IBS nutritionist, I'm here to help you discover what aggravates your symptoms, explore non-food interventions that may be helpful, and determine a plan to manage symptoms if they do occur. You're tired of eating a limited number of foods but nervous about experimenting with new foods.
Learning to feel at peace around food and your body can be a challenge in our society. As an eating disorder dietitian, I am here to help you navigate any difficulties around eating and moving your body so you can cultivate a more peaceful relationship with food and your body. My approach centers on Health at Every Size principles, and I firmly believe that all bodies are worthy of respectful care.

Carol is great. Friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable about nutrition while still being realistic. She knows that I'm not going to cook for myself every single day and that eating out is just a part of living in NYC. Her approach is very focused on what works for the individual and how to make good choices in a variety of situations. I chose her over other dietitians specifically because on her website she rejects the idea of cleanses, detoxes, and other gimmicky approaches to nutrition/weight loss.

I went to Carol on a recommendation from a friend and was unsure of what to expect. I am fairly healthy and I felt I knew the big picture things that would improve my health and lose those last 5 lbs (namely, drink a lot less).

I left the consultation with a much better sense of what I am putting into my body and much more confident in my food choices. She did not tell me to stop drinking. She did not tell me to eat a salad every day for lunch (in fact, she told me NOT to do that). She did not tell me to starve myself. Her goal seemed to be to provide me with information to make practical choices

Carolina's demeanor and office space are both warm and approachable, and her nutritional advice for maintaining good health is spot-on and centered in scientific research. I found the pro-biotics (and other supplements) she advised on my taking to be of the highest quality (and not a brand I would have readily found myself), and am looking forward to better gut (and overall) health. And yes, I am planning on eating more greens daily!
